Robert, are your shaves consisting of only Shave Secret and the Schick? :signs002:

If you are only spending $100, your bar tab is nowhere near big enough. Shoot for $150. Sure it'll cost you more, but the advantage is that you couldn't care less.

Day 10 of 30 days of straights

I decided last night that I will be switching razors on a daily basis throughout the remainder of my 30-day focus. Today I chose another 4/8 straight. I like the 4/8 size because I can get everywhere I need to and it seems to be a little easier to control the angle than with a 6/8.

BTW, why didn't anyone ever tell me that learning to shave with a straight really isn't any harder than learning to shave with a DE?

    Definitely a DFS today.

I forgot the DIY Pre-shave Oil before the first pass and decided to skip it for the day.

    Today's shave
Hot water wash with nivea mens face wash and a washcloth
    Ralph Lauren safari silvertip
    Route 66 A Perfect Gent
    Stahly head Maggards MR5 handle
    Gilette 7oclock green (2)
    A Perfect Gent balm
    Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction cologne
Today's shave was nice. Jamboree day for little league, what to be comfy while looking and smelling good. The "Gent" is my choice. The stahly will ensure a smooth mug and comfy feel for a busy, long saturday at the ball park. Finished with matching balm, and a spritz of blue seduction.
Hope y'all did as well, or better.

    Blade: Kai Captain Mild
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
    Brush: JR #60 synthetic
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Mountain Man
    WTG, touch-up

Pretty good shave today. I put in a new Kai Captain Mild blade but it felt a little less smooth than the previous blade. Perhaps it needs a little breaking in. Ended up with a little weeper near my Adam's Apple which turned red. That clouded the waters of an otherwise good shave. Not my best but certainly not the worst. Stirling's Sandpiper was terrific and I love the scent of Mountain Man.

    Have a great Saturday!

No, no walking tours:) Just a crazy month of February with my sons wedding, a couple of bouts with about the nastiest flu I've ever had. Add in mad spells of trying to play catch up with soap re-stocks, and a self imposed ban from social media sites (on which I was spending way to much time)! It was a matter of "the hurrider I go, the behinder I get"! Glad to be back though!

Hello members of SOTD! I've run out of razor's to audition blades for(at least 'til the Travel Razor I won in the raffle arrives). So I've come over here to continue my wet shaving education. Saturday is a no shave day for me. Tomorrow though is my me time shave and the start of the shaving week. This week it's my '71 SA-109 loaded with a Voskhod. Just acquired a tub of Razorock XXX, so that's the lather for tomorrow. Catch you all tomorrow.
