Good photograph Guy. I really like the bowl. I hope mine gets here before the end of the year. Very disappointed in Symmetrical Pottery customer service and delivery. Won't deal with these people again.:angry032:

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
    Pre shave - Proraso
    Razor – Merkur 34C HD
    Blade – Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush - The 'Americana' (Shavemac 24/48 D01 2 Band)
Soap – Reef Point - Tranquility
Post - Cold water rinse, Tallow + Steel – Dark Aftershave

Wonderful shave, even though I felt the GSB was a little lacking in the 34C.. Reef Point performed flawlessly, as usual... ;)

This shave was great - the Williams Menthol cream smells lovely and does it ever lather easily. Two small dabs on your cheeks, wet your brush and you're good to go. The menthol effect is very nice and does it ever have great blade glide. I LOVE the Alt Innsbruck aftershave because it smells beautiful and it's loaded with menthol! :happy088: :happy088:

A smooth near BBS 2 pass shave, XTG & ATG, followed by minor touch ups provided a great start to the Day. I finished off the shave with a splash of Fine Platinum. I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday.

A very nice shave this morning. I could have been done in one, but gave a second pass for some minimal clean up.

    IMG_0219.JPG 5 March 2017 SOTD Italian Style
Pre: VDH Shave Butter w/hot towel and copious amounts of hot water
Razor: 1971 Gillette Super Adjustable 109
Blade: Voskhod, pride of the Rodina
    Brush: Omega 10098
    Soap: Razorock XXX
Post: Hot/cold water rinse, alum block, ice cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Proraso Green
First shave here at SOTD. Sunday is my "me-time" shave and the start of the shaving week. After prep I dialed the SA-109 up to "9" and had at it. The Voskhod mowed down the two day growth with no problem(WTG). Dialed down to "7" for the second pass(XTG, cheeks and chin. ATG neck). "5" for the third pass(XTG).
This was my first experience with an Italian style soft soap, and I must say, I was impressed. The 10098 using the dry brush technique worked up an impressive lather that was slick and would have been enough for 4 or 5 passes if I needed 'em. Couldn't really put my finger on the scent but it was pleasant.
Splashed on some Proraso Green A/S and Sunday was off to an outstanding start. Have a great day everyone!

Day 11 of 30 days of straights

I used a FrameBack razor for the first time today. It was a very loud razor. At the same time, it was also very effective, requiring only 3 passes to get my first straight razor BBS. I did get one small cut through a rookie mistake, but the overall shave was excellent, especially on my problem areas.

    DIY Pre-shave Oil
    MDC based Uber-Lather
30mm High Mountain White set an extra 10mm deep
    3 passes, WTG, XTG, XTG
    6/8 square toe Japanese FrameBack

Gratuitous pictures reside here. Today's shave was with the second from the right in the first picture. unless, of course, you were referring to a pic of my cut. ;)

    Soap: Figaro Monsieur
    Brush: Omega S10065 synthetic - 1st use
Razor: RazoRock German 37 Slant - 1st use
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    After Shave: Pinaud Special Reserve

Very pleasing 1st shave with the slant. It proves looks can be somewhat deceiving. When I opened up the package yesterday and loaded the blade, this razor had a kind of sinister look to it. It's actually quite mild, yet efficient. Not aggressive at all. Up until today I had been using a Fatip Grande OC every day and even though the slant is milder by comparison, my shave this morning (two pass, minor touch-ups) was just as close. And the Omega brush performed as expected. plenty of backbone, yet soft as a badger.

SOTD: Early Sunday shave with one of my sentimental favorites: a vintage George Wostenholm & Sons 'Pipe' 7/8" square-point; Soap Commander 'Devotion' soap & matching menthol aftershave balm, Shave Works silvertip badger brush. Lovely shave! Have a blessed Sunday, gents!
