I have the Envy White in a different handle set at 26 X 50 so I had a pretty good idea of what it would be.

So this evening was my second DE shave of March. The picture is what I used. Not pictured is the alum and pre shave oil. So I'm using a cream this time (TSD Monkey Farts) and lathering cream to me is a different beast. I know I used too much product, but it did ensure I got a good lather. And I was getting the same not splaying like with the JR#25, so I know it isn't the brush.

And speaking of lather, I finally know what people mean when they say "slick." It was definitely slick, no real tugging. Definitely different than the Conks. Three passes and a lot of touch ups, but if it isn't BBS (and parts aren't) it is pretty darn good. DFS+.

After the shave the alum didn't burn all over which is another plus, and only one nick that made it until the end, but cold water and alum put it right out.

    Definitely a thumbs up.[IMG]

Love the Voltron. Yours or the kid's? I watched it but was already too old for the toys.

Also, love the brush. Can we get a closeup? Is it synthetic? Who makes it?

Mine. It is from the new Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix. I enjoy it. If I ever have kids, they'll get their own toys. And you're never too old for collectibles (what adults call toys).

I will say the picture didn't turn out half bad. It is always hard to know what it will really look like just by looking at it on the phone.

I forgot! Yes your collectibles. My brother in law is a big time collector of toys. He has several cabinets just for them.

Oh , I added stuff about the great brush. Shoot a closeup and add some details!!!

My basement is mainly Star Wars. I wish I had more glass cabinets to take the figures out of the packaging.

The brush is a Maggard's 24mm Synthetic. I really like it. I did my first shave of the month with Jayaruh's #25, but I wasn't getting good splaying, it felt more like a paint brush. Since I had switched up two variables (brush and cream), I decided to go back a brush and just make the cream the variable. The Maggard brush was doing the same thing, and this is my first time using a cream, so it is just different I guess. My lather might not have been quite there, but it worked. I'll try and get a picture of it later.

March 5 (Sunday) - fingertip focus

Gillette Black Beauty on 9 / PolSilver (4)
    Kent woodhandled boar brush
The Eternal Tub of TOBS Avocado Cream ( croap )
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Aftershave

I soaked the Kent brush in hot water for about 20 minutes tonight and it was much softer than usual. Still not as good at picking up product, whipping lather, and then facepainting it out as the Omega Essential Boar or my old drugstore boar brush though; maybe it just needs more break in time. I relathered it after my shave and am leaving it to dry soapy to help the process along a little more.

I shave with my Gillette SuperAdjustable tonight and held it with my fingertips by the very end of the long handle to ensure light pressure. Since I was doing that, I made the shave a little more challenging by bumping the level up from my normal adventurous 3 to a staid and sedate 9. The result still felt very mild and I was able to do an extra ATG pass after my usual diagonal ones.

The alum stung briefly and mildly in a few spots and the followup aftershave gave a warming burn overall. No residual irritation though.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday and will enjoy a great week!

    March 5

    G3 Gillette Fat Boy
    Feather (3)
    Simpson Chubby 2 Super
    Soap Commander Love
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Terre d’Hermès Parfum

Two passes on setting 5 for near BBS goodness. After two solid months of use, great shaves with the FB are automatic. I dig the weight and feel of the razor, but it does require some work to get a close shave directly under my nose. This was my first shave using the Simpson Chubby 2. His name is Jethro, as he seems to have a good appetite. I didn't feed him quite enough soap today, and I also think it'll take a few shaves for him to hit his stride. The brush feels good in hand and has a bit more scrub than I expected. I think I'll like it, particularly after a month or so of use. I plan to try my first Voskhod blade tomorrow. Now that I have developed a good baseline with the FB, it will be interesting to see how this blade performs.

My Bride and I had a fantastic Sunday! I hope you all did as well.
