March 6,2017 Gillette SA w Voskhod (3) Jeeves of Hudson St. Apothecary TGN Boar/maple handle Thayers Unscented Stirling Barbershop AS Day 3 of the SA focus, day 3 with the Voskhod. Went 5,4,3 on the 3 passes plus touch up. Haven't found the slight bump up in settings resulting in closer shave. Smooth shave with no weepers, though. Will change out the Voskhod for an Astra tomorrow, on the rotation. The boar is broken in nicely, and did a nice job whipping up plenty of lather from the Jeeves Apothecary. This was the first time using this soap for me, and the lather was slick and thick. If I had any complaint at all, it was that the scent was quite faint and subtle. It is a spearmint/eucalyptus scent, so I was expecting it to be more pronounced. It is from last year, but I wouldn't imagine that would make a difference. Finished off with some Stirling Barbershop splash. Have a great day all!
After a weekend of DE shaves, it feels good to be back on the Dark Side Stubble Trubble Pirate Cowboy Soap B-400 Brush by Tom Portland Razor Company Siren Lucky Tiger Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage, and Cedar AS Have a great week!
You, sir, are an anomaly, but the cartel still approves of your pending application for membership. There are a few sellers on the bay with 100 Rubie's for sale but you'll pay over $20 per hundred. About twice what Voskhod/Rapira's run. One seller has them for $18.99 but he's in Lithuania and has only 17 reviews.
We're the mattress mafia so it can't be that. Interesting question that I'll have to ask about as I didn't realize that. I suspect that there has never been a large enough mattress company for us to buy out in Wyoming. Mattress Firm started in Houston and grew organically throughout Texas and up through the center but has made its biggest growth through acquisition, ala Sleepy's....our latest and greatest buy. We've also bought out smaller companies as we grew so the lack of anything in Wyoming would seem to indicate nothing big enough to consider profitable. There is a lot of wide open space up there and lots of cows.
Mattress Firm recently bought out our local chain called Sleep Train. They are going to rename the stores. So much for the name recognition that was bought by naming the Sacramento Kings arena Sleep Train Arena
Yep. I was actually on the list to spend a couple of weeks out there helping with store transition later this month but they changed it up.
That seems to be the problem. They're good... but I'm not sure they are worth the extra expense over other pieces of Russian steel. BTW, any thoughts about the Gillette Nacet blades?
The few times I've used them I liked them. Similar to the Ladas on the Moscow side. I was just thinking about three days ago I need to revisit them. The artwork on the tucks is some of the most interesting too.
Now that would be un-American. Nope. We're the only nationwide chain. And we're owned by Steinhoff, Intl. which is the largest in Europe/Africa. Sorry, you've been assimilated. Now, there are a bunch of little guys, local stores and chains that keep us honest.
