One of the best posts I have read. You made some excellent points. Thank you for taking the time to write such a post. :happy088:

Clint, that is a wonderful picture! The bowl is beautiful and the Barber pole handle looks great.

    March 7 SOTD:

    VDH Boar Brush
    La Cigale
    Ever-Ready 1924
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Proraso Red AS

I knew this was going to be a great shave as I loaded my brush. For whatever reason, the soap just seemed to be getting a terrific looking pre-lather. As I lathered my face, the lather really just exploded. So much that this little VDH brush couldn't contain it all. The razor just effortlessly rode across my face taking lather and whiskers away as it went. It was just easy. This was the best shave I have ever had with this razor, and to be completely honest, this soap seemed much better than the last time I used it. It was a nice slick lather, with some nice cushion to match. I was really impressed with the soap this morning, and I will have to make it a more regular part of my rotation. A little Proraso Red capped off what was the best work day shave I have had in a while. I hope everyone has a great!

Beautiful picture. Where does the 1924 rank among you other Gem style razors?

Thanks, Clint! My favorite is the ER 1914 followed closely by the Gem Damaskeene. I would also probably rank the Gem Junior just above the 1924. Another contender is the Gem Junior Bar, which is not only a great shaver but also looks great.

Thank you Jim. I have found the Gem razors to be great shavers on I mastered the area below my nose. I need to break out my Gem Damaskeene for a week here soon.

Rubies must be like The Veg, you must be chosen to use them.

Fantastic setup Amigo. The brush looks fantastic. I am really curious what you think about it after your shave today.

Mine cleared customs this morning and made it to Atlanta. With any luck I will get it today or tomorrow. I know the brush up for next week. :D

Thank you Andrew. This Triad handle is my favorite by a wide margin. I wish Toby was still making handles.

Thank you Andrew. With your post I just caught my error of having the wrong date on today's post. I guess I am out of sorts.

Lovely photo Jim, Is the 1924 the same as a Shovelhead ? If not what distinguishes them ?

It's OK. Today is my first day back to work. So I'm a little out of sorts myself.

Today is the 5th and last day with the C1. The blade is dull and i took that as a sign to begin the comparison with the Gem OCMM. The C1 has provided decent close shaves but it bites....Ive had weepers and the alum block has spoken to me each day. Ive never been a big fan of the OC and this month will likely reaffirm that:D
