I used Piacenza aftershave today. We were right on target with our collective descriptions of citrus and musk. It reminds me of blood oranges; deep citrus and not bright like oranges or lemons. It's a nice scent. Second, I finished off the little bit of Margaritas in the Arctic that remained. I got that small bit from the first soap pass-around last year. I wasn't sure about the menthol level the first time I used it (thinking it was too cold) but I came around and really, really enjoyed it these last few shaves. I'm thinking maybe Orange Chill or something along those lines might be in the future for me.
No, but I think it might have been that. Yet, when I had the other Glacial bath soaps they seemed to perform just as well as the Wintergreen.
Rod encouraged me to do a review of my Barbershop soap even though it wasn't a purchase from Rod(a gentleman PIFed it...you know who you are). So I wrote the review for Rod. I think there are more reviews for his Barbershop soap than for anything else(as of now, of course).
I have a puck of the Barbershop which I bought around a year and a half ago. I definitely owe myself some more shaves with it because it's so great!
The wintergreen creates issues for the bath soap. It accelerates the reaction and the soap becomes one hard block before you can poor l pour it into the molds.
Me too! I love MITA, want to try the glacial version and really want to try Eskimo Tuxedo Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
I bloom my soap and use the soapy water to hydrate the soap while I face lather. So, the other day I towel dried my face on a accident. No problem. I used the bloom water and a brush to get going. 3 swirls on the tub and I had lather for days. Today, I actually shave with just the bloom water. No product at all. I was pretty impressed. It wasn't the best lather... But it was still slick enough. I won't try that again, but man is that Stirling a good soap. This just further solidifies my Stirling only den. Anyone else tried?
Looking for a little advise...... I'm going to pick up a tub of the Glacial MITA and matching AS. Now, for my question....should I go for the matching balm? Or go for the unscented menthol balm? Oh, and don't get me started on what samples to get, lol. Decisions, decisions, decisions.... Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
Just an FYI: The MITA available now is not Glacial and is just standard menthol. The Glacial was a limited run. Still plenty chilly, but not quite the same. Just wanted you to know so you weren't disappointed with the cool factor.
I appreciate the info. I've tried the one now, and like it but want more kick. I thought I read that Rod will have the glacial again. Sure hope so! Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
