Agreed! I like how everyone is posting a picture but no description of the shave.

SOTD: Early morning shave using a newly-restored & newly-honed Clauss razor 5/8" duo belonging to TSD member Ben @ob1page . Soap Commander 'Honor' and matching SC aftershave balm; Lijun 30mm silvertip.
I alternated between passes, with both razors felt equally keen & smooth! Quality shavers!
    Have a great Wednesday, all!

    Razor: Christy with Massage Bar
Blade: Personna Mini Hair Shaper (1)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

While I am not brave(?) enough to try shaving with a carriage bolt razor, I did want to do something in sympathy for those who took the Ides of March Challenge and use a razor that offered some possibility of mishap.

The Christy razor is a recent acquisition that came along with my Gem Featherweight. From what little I know, this particular version of the razor was made from the mid-20's through the late-30's. It uses a proprietary blade which is no longer available. Hearty souls have noted, however, that the stops for the proprietary blade are in almost the perfect position to allow loading of an Injector blade with a bit of fiddling. So, we have a new-to-me razor equipped uncertainly with a brand new blade for which it was not designed.... Sounds like Wednesday in the Den!

Here, unfortunately, is where I have to let you all down. From the first stroke, two things seemed apparent: 1) The Injector blade was sufficiently secure as to not be its own hazard, and 2) The Christy shaves pretty much like an Injector with an oversize head. It is a bit on the aggressive side (though probably no worse than my Schick Adjustable at a high setting) with lots of audio feedback. The narrow rod of a handle is a bit odd, but not overly so. The big trick seems to be that you have to ride the cap almost perfectly flat for the most comfortable results.

In the end, I did my usual two passes to a near-BBS. There was a bit of irritation and some heat from the Alum but no weepers or other blood. The irritation, however, I blame on operator error in failing to maintain the best angle and in some overshaving of already-shaved areas.

I'm not sure I'd want to put this into the rotation often, but I could see myself picking up the Christy from time to time.

My apologies if I disappointed any of you who tuned in today for a bloodletting.

    Stirling 24mm Synthetic

Another great shave out of the Schick C1, They keys to success with this razor, like any aggressive razor, are keeping a light touch and riding the cap. This think really mows down the whiskers in short order. Two passes was all it took. One small observation after using the Shovelhead last week, the shaves with the C1 don't seem to be quite as long lasting. Have a great day my friends

    Cream: Proraso Blue
    Brush: Omega S10065
    Razor: RazoRock German 37 Slant
    Blade: Shark (1)
After Shave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Damn good shave this morning. I'd say a 96% BBS (tough chin wires). First time using a Shark blade. Got a tuck from Sevenbark. Not bad at all. Me thinks the slant razor has a lot to do with most blades performing better than they do in a regular DE, either closed or open comb. It's either the torsion or my imagination. Using the AV Ice Blue the past few days in honor of the lovely weather here. Nice layer cake of snow, sleet, freezing rain, then snow. All windblown into a magical winter wonderland.

Last time my setup with the Single Ring didn't do it justice. This time a fresh Permasharp and two shims resulted in a holy crap phenomenal shave. DFS-NBBS in one pass, in three even the nasty jawline area was almost unheard of-ly smooth. Head shave similarly impressive. Tabac didn't hurt. Big win here.

Since I didn't shave yesterday(no work) today's shave was like a Sunday shave.
Pre: Lots of hot water and a hot towel
    Razor: EJ DE89bl
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Brush: Omega 6212 Silvertip
    Cream: Trumper GFT
Post: Hot/cold rinse, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Canoe by Dana
Nice growth for the DE89BL/Shark combo to mow down. 2.5 passes plus some clean up. I forgot how much I enjoy shaving with the DE89BL. I'm almost tempted to throw in a Voskie next turn in the rotation. So far I've resisted that siren's call. Splashed on some Canoe, which I pair up with the GFT and the day was off to an outstanding start. For all my friends in the Northeast, I hope the storm treated you kindly! Have a great day.

Thank you! It was not as bad as I thought, but definitely some flex on the corners of the blade that you have to pay attention to.

Very interesting shave this morning. Two passes, WTG Flare Tip/ ATG G4 and clean-up. Smooth all the way through, 1 little tiny weeper in the corner of my mouth, other than that, I made friends with a very smooth, jolly Dolphin. Very Happy Camper here, wishing the same for all. God Bless.

I posted a run down in the 30 Day thread, but the shave went better than expected. I kept it to one pass, but got a SAS quality shave out of that. In reality, my cheeks are as close as any shave I have had with a quality straight or Pain Stick.
