The Gem Junior has a slightly different head from the original 1912. Very similar, but a little different. Check out this thread here (I don't endorse the particular forum, I just stumbled across it while researching the 1912).

You've done really well with the straights! Your progress is definitely quicker than mine!

I took your advice listening to Foxbase Alpha, at least part of it. I didn't have a redhead, a beach, an island, or a cool beverage. Instead, I had a office chair, desk, computer fan humming, nice coke stained refinery view out the window, and hot coffee. Other than that, I followed everything as you recommended. Good album.

Less than a month in. I would say that's a victory.

Although it supposed to be rather mild today(and tomorrow too)I still went with my rotation plan(Rte 66 Cavendish, Clubman SR). I figure, it may be warmish, but at least it isn't humid. Sometime around mid to late April, I think it'll be time to put the winter shave gear away and reorganize my "den" for the warmer weather.

Well, it's been a long last few days. On Friday, I went to the dentist for a toothache. At the time, he took some x-rays and probed a bit but the conclusion was that while I might need a root canal down the road, he though adjusting my bite would be enough to take the pressure off of the tooth that was giving me issues. Saturday night, however, my cheek and jaw started to swell and Sunday morning I was at the Urgent Care getting antibiotics for a non-specific soft tissue infection. One emergency root canal later (yesterday) and I'm in less pain but still look like I'm smuggling golf balls in my cheek.

This morning was the first shave since Friday and, given the swelling, I decided to go for the simplest and safest route available.

    Razor: Mach 3
    Blade: Generic Mach 3-compatible (3)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

I figured a modern multi-blade cart would be about as easy as I could go. One pass and a bit of touchup produced an acceptable CCS/DFS.

Sadly, the abscessed tooth and root canal may have been the high points of the weekend. On Saturday, my mother-in-law from my first marriage was taken back to the hospital with difficulty breathing. This morning at around 0600 EDT she passed from this world and rejoined her husband who died a few months ago.

It was an early morning today. I took my wife to the hospital this morning. I'm typing this from the waiting room while she is in surgery. I'm a little stressed, but glad I have you guys to keep my mind off of it

Today's shave was very nice. This 8/8 near wedge is the heaviest razor I own. It has a very nice edge and just wiped the whiskers off. Im going to like this one.
