-Feather AC -Duke 3 Synthetic -Route 66 Lumberjack -Florida Water Not a ton of time today, so the Feather came out, and I went to the Duke. If I had to hurry up and shave in the mornings every day, that could very easily be my only brush. I really like that one.
Last night of the Silvertips: The Thater brush was one I bought not too long ago because I kept hearing now great their silvertip knots were. Reports were right. The handle is simple and functional. The way one holds it though, I wish it were a bit longer. The flat strips running along the length are grippy, but it almost needs a lip or ridge to wrap a finger around, or be long enough to palm it. The polished black looks great under the three band knot. The coin/emblem in the bottom of the handle is a nice touch. The tips are as soft as any badger I have used, and it is a pretty dense brush. Feels full on the face when it is splayed, and typical to three bands, isn't really scrubby, but has a good presence. I find the knot very similar to the Simpson Super, it just doesn't have the price tag. It scored pretty similar to the Tulip, mostly it just lost a little bit on the comfort of the handle. Horses run tomorrow.
The Cartel attorney will be contact with your attorney. When we get him sober enough to use the phone.
That's a good description of the process. And I can get the same feeling from a DE or AC shave. I think the TSR shaves would be equally or greater in theri capacity to allow for calming, focusing, etc. if it wasn't for the stropping. Yeah, I know....I'm strange that way. I told my wife last night I need to get past that mental block. I think I actually stress over stropping due to the possibility of rolling the edge. It seems to irritate my tendency toward perfection. Or something like that.
Fatboy at 9 can make a lot of blades seem harsh and rough. At some point you might want to try a fresh Voskie at that setting just to see if it's razor or blade. I suspct the Astra SP will do well, though.
March Madness Barbasol and Barber Blade Edition Day Twenty-Two Pacific Rush seemed right after a picture perfect day. Great two pass before splashing on the Adidas and heading to watch the sun set into the Ocean, cute little redhead in tow! Other than that...all is quiet in Waikoloa. Have a terrific Thursday!
March Madness & Spring Cleaning!! March 22 Razor -Feather SS Blade - (2) Soap - Route 66 Sweeney Todd Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip Post - Alum The first day of my week is over and went by pretty uneventfully. That's both a good and a bad thing. No problems but no sales to put some bucks in the pocket. No worries. It happens. The second shave with the Feather SS was accompanied by Route 66 and the Wolf. Rich, luxurious lather and feel from the high end Silvertip really made the entire experience relaxing and even felt a bit decadent. The Feather SS with the Pro blade was as smooth as I can remember and seemed totally effortless. A very nice DFS was the result of two passes and cleanup that felt more like a quick one pass. I was actually a bit disappointed I didn't need another full pass. A great way to end the start of my week. The Zen of shaving baby. I need to relax and let it find me more often! Looks like Spring is going to try and make it in to stay here now. The forecast is for upper 60s and lower 70s through Friday then about 10 days of rain. Looks like the Spring flooding season is about upon the Missouri/Mississippi River basin. Should be hearing frogs by the time it's done.
Gotta question your rankings here, Jared. You list the Kent BK12 #14 as being in first place with a score of 90.0. Doesn't #17 Simpson Tulip beat that at 90.5? (Note that this is a completely impartial question as my pick, the Nathan Clark Envy White, is finishing respectably but well back in the pack.)
March 23, 2017 Mongoose B2 with Triad Ti Feather Pro Super (12) Romera Olive Wood Synthetic Reef Point Tranquility Fine Lavender The shaves this week have been very consistent. The fact that all the products work well helps with the consistency. The Reef Point Tranquility has made my buy again list with its top notch performance and the scent. I am surprised that Reef Point soaps don't get more play on the forums. The Feather Super Pro blade is getting a bit tired so I went with a 3 pass shave and touch ups this morning. Overall an excellent work morning shave. I finished off with a splash of Fine Lavender. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
March 23 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Ben Franklin SS Schick Adjustable Stirling Unscented PSB Stirling Ben Franklin AS Not too much to report on this shave. I used my favorite soap/AS combo and a tried and true razor. It was an easy DFS. The blade is on need of replacement, but it got through this shave well enough. I hope everyone has a great day!
