A very good, smooth shave with the Matas soap. It gave me great lather with a comfortable feeling. The Polar Ice is a delight!

Slow recovery from sore throat bug. Amazing how a good shave perks you up. The head design of the General really works for me, especially since I switched to a much heavier handle than the original. I can even shave with a Feather Pro without fear of harm , as these days I never rush my Shaves.

    Happy Birthday Mastro Livi!

Happy Birthday Mastro Livi! I want to dedicate today's shave to Mastro Livi who turns 76 today. Seventy-one years dedicated to cutlery and cutting tools, sixty-two years committed with passion to straight razor making and maintenance. I want to send my wishes to a dear friend and a real Master, to the most incredible artisan and straight razor maker I have ever known, the one who has taught me an incredible amount of shaving and straight razor things, the one who has changed my knowledge and approach both about shaving and straight razor maintenance. It has been four incredible years in which everything in my shaving habits have changed and changed forever for the better. Today is Mastro Livi's birthday and I am glad to see he is celebrating his special day with all of his clients by offering a very special discount on the e-shop available at his website. A lovely way to celebrate all together. Happy birthday Mastro Livi! May today be a happy day for you with many more to come. Thank you, Maestro!

    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: Jayaruh boar
    Lather: Strop Shoppe Baker Street
Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Baker Street aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Nice shave with the L1 today. Good lather from Strop Shoppe's Baker Street with the smallish Jayaruh boar. That brush needs a little more breaking in but it's going to be a good one in the long run. The Baker Street splash was nice and silky. I really enjoy the scent and am happy Stirling revived the scent and is keeping it alive.

    Have a great day!

So, I was under the impression it was Spring. I must've been misinformed. It was 21 degrees when I walked the dog prior to going to work.
This morning I broke out the Simpsons Unscented Shaving Cream. I bought it so I could use any A/S I had a mind to, without causing scent conflicts.
A great side benefit is it makes a fantastic lather. So I put my Omega 6212 to work and had a brush/bowl full of slick comfy lather in no time.
My NEW SC loaded with a GSB came across with a BBS 2.5 pass shave. I don't often score the baby during the week. But when it does happen it's usually the NEW/GSB that does the deed.
Splashed on some Fine "American Blend" from my WCS sampler and I was ready to face the day.
Have a great day my brothers and sisters!

Day 28 of 30 days of straights

I have 3 statements to make about today's shave. 1) It looks like I did shave. 2) I have 5 new cuts 3) I sprayed on more alum today than I have in the last year. I don't know what happened, but it was not a good shave.

    DIY Pre-shave Oil
    ABC with TOBS Rose
30mm High Mountain White set an extra 10mm deep
    2 passes, WTG, XTG
    Sampsons All Natural Aftershave Balm
    6/8 Round Toe Henckel 17 1/2

SOTD: Vintage Hayashi Diamond 8000 13/16," Martin de Candre soap, TGN 24mm synthetic, and Stirling 'Sharp Dressed Man' aftershave. Three smooth passes (actually, four,— just for the fun of it!); near-BBS results. Nice! Have a great Thursday, gents!

This my friends is the answer to the frequently reoccurring question, .....if there could only be one,..... if I were stranded on a desert island and......
It only took me three years and 50 or 60 razors in 4 types(sr,de,se,injector) to find. But I think I'd be ok if stuck with this getup only. 20170323_094305_resized(1).jpg not pictured is an alum block I've started using.
