It was a great morning shave. In reality, I got a couple of cuts from the razor, nothing too bad, but enough to remind me that my straight technique has seriously slipped. I ended with a CCS level of smoothness, but it was a bit of effort and some pink lather. What really made this shave great, though is this:

My son and middle daughter both joined me for the shave. This did mean that my little toddler spent a lot of time in the bathroom too, which rushed me a bit, but was it ever fun to have them both there. I hope everyone has a great day!

Another gorgeous shot of nice gear, and another empty countertop. I think Clint and I could be actual family. Just call me Cousin Eddie.

    A gorgeous uplifting photo mate.
Your children have a better technique than me at the moment. :)

Extra happy with myself this morning because this is another razor I honed from the ground up. I certainly don't have any mad skills, but at least now I am pretty confident I can take a razor from butter knife to a nice shaver. At least if I start out with straight steel.

Stirling brought back Glastonbury, and in the mutton tallow formula. It is named after a rock restival, and I think aptly so. If you have ever had your heart skip a little watching a barefoot girl dancing outdoors, this is your scent. And the sheep soap continues to be the slickest soap I have ever used. I am really glad Rod brought this back for a re-run.

The brush runoff had to take a couple of days off, but I will resume today with this Omega. The horses will move to the back of the line.

Man that brings back memories of when my guys were little. They always wanted to "shave" with dad when he was getting ready for work. Thanks for making my day!
And come 1 April, I'll be back.

Welcome Wayne! In a couple days Neal @NCoxSTL will start a new thread, but you can jump in any time. If you read the first post in the thread you understand the concept. A Rule is great when starting out. You take your set up use the same razor, brand of blade (change often to avoid dull blade issues), soap, brush, etc. and figure out what works best for you. The rest of us have more than likely encountered the problems you may be dealing with. So you shave and evaluate. We offer advice, opinions, and even actual information. Plus you get to see us in our unguarded, fallible, blood on steel moments.
There may be a theme for next month, but no one is required to follow the herd. For you it's about dropping bad habits & developing good technique. Have fun with it. That's why we're here.

Thank you, it was so much fun. The best Saturday shave I have had in a long time!

Love that razor! Brush is really cool too. Love the transparent section combined with the dark upper opaque.

That razor seems more pointed. Am I correct in saying you have some that are rounded? Do you have a preferred tip shape? To me it looks rather intimidating.
