But we are still celebrating Cinco De Julio with Popsicle battle axe razors, right?

Also, I saw these and just had to increase my vintage collection.

I know, I should focus on one blade but when opportunity knocks, you answer. the price was right for an introduction and they are usable.

    Razor: AlumiGoose w/Hempel Ti
    Blade: Kai Captain TITAN (7)
Brush: Shavemac ATG LE The Rowl Silvertip
    Soap: Knockout Cool Blue
Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Shady Past
    Bowl: Pottersong KO Shave

Very good shave tonight with this razor. The Kai blade is pretty good, however, in my opinion it doesn't stand up to the Feather Pro. Hopefully this brush will release some of the soap once it gets broken in.

Just because you are focusing on one razor doesn't mean you stop acquiring others for the future. :happy088: They look to be in great shape. What year are they?

Excellent lineup Doug. The Feather Pro is my blade of choice in the AlumiGoose and Cobra.

Thanks Clint. In the picture I tried to capture the ruins of the old mill in the background, however, it was either to foggy (rained all day) or poor photography. Maybe tomorrow.

That brush looks great Doug. I'm sure it is going to be fantastic when it loosens up.

When a guy looks at the price difference, I would buy the Feathers over the Kais even if they were as jagged as a soup can lid.

I just got my Bismarck back from Brad Maggard after I had him fix the edge. I was tuning it up from its factory "shave ready" edge. I was finished, and was just wiping off the blade, when I bumblefingered it and dropped it onto my hone. It put a little flat spot; not really a ding or a chip exactly, into it, right on the corner of the curve. I tried honing on it very carefully, but all it did was make it look like I had peened a little spot on the bevel. I quit before I screwed it up. It was almost more cosmetic than anything. I told myself I would shave with it, and if it didn't feel off, eventually it would hone out.

But while I sat there with the razor oiled and put away, the little nick in that brand new razor just grew and grew and GREW in my brain. Pretty soon it was just this mangled up piece of crap laying in a drawer, so I boxed it up and sent it off. Brad straightened it up, and had it back to me in six days. You could never tell it had been touched. He also must have felt sorry for me because all he just charged me for a simple honing, and he tightened up the pivot.

So there is the story of my first razor I had to have repaired.

Mom would ask," If your friends jumped off a bridge?"
Um, yup. I would. I did. I probably will again.

I started my wet shaving with a 1/2 DE blade shavette of the type Chris @Bama Samurai prefers. Since I've been using the longer Weck type Cinco de Julio is happening. I might do both shaves while visiting my folks. Dad's an RN & mom's a LPN.
Where's that bridge and how deep's the water?

The Super Speed is a C4 which I think is 1957 but the Tech has no date code. Any way to determine it?
