Hero. Frugal too. Makes it all the more exciting! You should leave it in your shower soap dish for a couple of days. Make sure it's nice and clean... We should make pond water AS a thing.
"Our Pond Water AS comes from the finest organic cattle farms. Our commitment to all-natural organics is apparent from the first time the bottle is opened...and sure to give your face that skin feel you know you'll blog about later..."
@mrchick First person to contract an intercranial ameobic infection from a homemade shaving implement will be declared a living legend and national treasure. Survive, and you'll have the story of a lifetime, and certainly the people's admiration eternal. Die, we retire your jersey July 2018.
Of course it goes without saying it has to be a stagnant pond. None of that fru-fru spring fed stuff. Preferably full of grass carp.
And hopefully cattle walk in it and drink from it daily. Rain water runoff fed. Best AS usually is bottled around mid September, hopefully in a drought...though June and the spawn can have its high notes as well, especially regarding bottle note and bouquet.
Adding bay leaves tomorrow. It should be ready by May. Do you guys think that adding lime would be too much?
IMHO, a classic... Why is divorce expensive? Who cares? It's worth it. Sometimes though, it's just a complicated and possibly painful change for the better. Other times, a lawyer's kid just gets braces.
Counterfeit Cartel Pond Water AS? Bootleg too, apparently. @NCoxSTL Promotion time. West Coast found an ambitious entrepreneurial type. Brave too.
We all made a pact three pages back. Beard and dreadlock challenge. Next guy to shave after reading this has to pick up the check at the after party. Don't be that guy.
Someone once said the next time they thought sbout getting married they were just going to find a woman they fid not like and give her half his stuff.
Well, you guys have just inspired me ... to find my bottle of isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Before I shave with anything, it's ALL going for a swim. Reminds me of that Civil War officer I once read about somewhere in passing who died of blood poisoning after cutting himself while shaving. Or those vintage Listerine ads about using Listerine as an aftershave to prevent similar misfortunes. (Apparently Listerine was originally a topical disinfectant before it became a mouthwash.)
March 29, 2017Cobra ClassicFeather Pro (4)Brothers Bristles with Tuxedo SyntheticFine Italian Citrus This week is going by so quickly. The shaves have all been consistently very good. I am very impressed with the Fine Italian Citrus. It is so easy to lather and very slick. Sticking with my normal 2 pass routine of XTG and ATG followed touch ups ended in my normal near BBS shave. I have this one spot on my lower neck that I just don't chase most mornings. I finished off with a splash of the matching Fine Italian Citrus. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
March 29 (Wednesday ) - cleanup Gillette Black Beauty on 3 / PolSilver (5) Supply Provision synthetic brush Proraso White soap Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Aftershave Unlike Neal @NCoxSTL , I did not have a problem with my Proraso White soap having lather that dried out and got sticky; quite the opposite. When I first whipped up the soap, the lather looked good but did seem dry and sticky, so I added more water to the bowl. Perhaps a little too much. The lather ended up looking good (to me) and it certainly did the job well when I spread it on my face and shaved, but it was positively runny. A little too runny for my taste, although the shave went well, with crisscross diagonal passes followed by an ATG touchup pass resulting in a DFS with no nicks and no irritation. Mr. Alum was admirably taciturn when consulted. I finished with Thayers' high alcohol content WH aftershave. Having given a fifth good shave, the PolSilver blade went into the blade bank. I will finish out the month putting a few last shaves on the Personna injector blade in my Supply Provision Single Edge injector. I was just checking my inventory, and I believe I now have 25 creams, 32 soaps and a few samples, many of which I have not yet tried. I believe I will spend the next couple months doing just that -- I have focussed on my brushes and now only have a rotation of ones I really like, and have done the same thing with my razors, so now it's time to move on to my soaps and creams. I will focus on trying creams in April and then soaps in May, then possibly working with ones that seemed to need more time dialling in during June. By then, I should have a good idea which ones I really like, which ones I don’t mind, and which ones I will avoid if I can and should therefore sell or PIF. (They are all commercial or artisan soaps and creams with excellent reputations.) This should also remove any temptation to go out and buy more...
