Tonight's shave was with a French Surgical Straight. It had been an OK shaver before, and now is a very good razor. I had a near silent 2 pass shave. I looked and found that it was a near Full Wedge. This is a stiff and solid shaving razor, but very smooth. The scales are made of Stainless Steel, so it's a heavy razor. I had a near BBS shave with no nicks, cuts, or weepers.

Razor- French Surgical Straight. "H.G." Near Full Wedge.
    Brush- Semogue 1800 Boar
    Soap- ARKO/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. MMMM MMMM Good.

Ahh, Commies are coming back around. I guess I will need to get mine out, and have a Commie shave.

    Raketa, not Paketa ;-)

The "P" is actually an R in the cyrillic alphabet. Raketa is the russian word for rocket.

    Hi everyone. Today's shave:

    - Chiseled Face "Ghost Town Barber"
    - Thäter 26mm 2-band
    - Mastro Livi "Grifetto"
    - Thayers Witch Hazel

Fantastic shave, close and smooth. This is the best straight razor in my den - although my new Wacker duo is very very close ;)

I think he is just telling us how it is pronounced.

The R sound is how it is pronounced but it is spelled with a P character. The razor is a 1961 and coincides with Yuri Gagarin's launch as the first person into space. That's why the pin commemorating that event is in the picture. :happy036:

...and if I was really clever I'd use the Cyrillic script which you can see on the tang of the razor. :happy088:

Tonight's shave was with a Vintage DOVO, Solingen. It had a very sharp edge on it, after I restored and honed it, but I cannot leave well enough alone. I touched it up on the Surgical Black Arkie progression, and it came out beyond my expectations. It was super sharp, and very very smooth. I had a great BBS 2 pass shave, without touch ups.

    Razor- Vintage DOVO, Solingen
    Brush- B400 By Tom
    Soap- ARKO/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy

Last couple of days I used my Challenge Cutlery. Nothing special, American made plain Jane, but one I love using for some reason. I little tuggy yesterday, so I touched it up on the Swaty and finished it off on the Arkie. My face is now "Arkie smooth " :D
