First shave back home, PRC Damascus fresh of a Shapton glass 16k. Wonderful shave.

I took out my Genco "fluid steel" this morning for a wonderful two pass shave.

Paired up with Chiseled Face ghost town barber, Maggards 24mm synthetic brush, Drygulch strop, store brand witch hazel and Aqua Velva musk, it was a great start to my Friday!

I do like the sound of a Shapton 16k. It's on my wish list.

I have one of these, and it is an outstanding shaver. Kind of surprised me actually.

On a scale of 1-10, how does it shave? I like the looks. If you get bored with the feel of it, it looks like it would make a fine folding straight razor.

It shaves very well, I would call it an 8. My only complaint is that it is kind of a pain to strop because of the sharp points on the handle. It digs in when I flip it. I'll live with that because I like the looks of it and it shaves well.
The only problem with putting scales on it would be working around the .40 S&W brass that sticks up and would interfere.

Couldn't a groove be made in the scales, to clear the casing?

Tonight's shave was with one of my "Premium" razors. I touched the already sharp edge up with the SB Arkie progression. It gave a flawlessly smooth 2 pass shave, with zero issues.

It's quite the oddball in my collection. I have maybe 5-6 very nice looking ones, but they were ones that cleaned up nicely, and had almost no wear.

I love the edges I get from this 'stone', both smooth and very sharp.

I took out the Genco "vanadium" this morning and had a wonderful shave.

When I bought this razor (not bad at $22), it was supposed to be shave ready. Well, it was not even close. I ran this razor over my Naniwa 1k, 3k, 8k and 12k a couple of weeks back and it's maintaining an outstanding edge and giving me great shaves.
