The Haul: April 2017

Picked up an Old Spice 3305 Gift Set (minus the box) with the plastic wrap still intact for $13 at an antique store yesterday.

It's not too old (evidenced by the bar code) but it was a good price for an unopened A/S and soap-on-a-rope.

 

Stopped into an antiques shop on the way home today and picked up a couple of goodies today. The Probak just because I don't have one and the NOS Astra because it was one of my first razors and I was feeling nostalgic.

 

It's not P&G, either.

NOS Atra. Sweet. I found mine in a flea market. It took some cleaning, but it is a fine razor. I would have picked up the Probak, too. This is Anything But Gillette month for me. It would have gone into the rotation.

 

My father-in-law found these for me. A metal cased Autostrop set. An SE blade stropper. And a Segal in excellent condition with box. All cleaned up, just need to polish the case and re-condition the strops.

Going to try out the 56 Red Tip tonight. Hope it as good as people say, I already enjoy the regular flare. Not sure of the future of the Gillette travel brush.

 

I'd be a nice brush to restore.

My Maggard order showed up today. I'm not sure what I was expecting on the Sherlock but I'm getting a very soapy scent. Hopefully it changes with use. The others are fantastic!

 

Having a hard time find a knot for it. It my be finding a new home. I'm not a collector ... I'm a user.

 

That is a pretty cool travel brush. It would make a nice restore project.

 

I think I may have a knot for that brush.

 

Picked up a Cremo Spanish Horsehair brush from Target today. I wanted something small I could pack within an empty medication bottle when traveling, and also wanted to try a horsehair brush. Killed two birds with one stone.
