I believe I'll have my Brass Colonial Razor today, along with a Gillette Black Tip. I ordered a Wen Rotary Kit, someday I'd like to re-knot a shaving brush.
A '48/'49 SS Edit: I will once again attempt to order 100 Gillette Platinums. This time, from a reliable source (read: previously-used seller).
You know the deal; You look and think is that junk or is not? .... Hmmmm, I like the handle ... I could transplant the knot .... aww why not. It's listed as a Erbe Solingen brush and it's sold out of Germany. I may transplant the knot to an Ever Ready 150. There was an amber and a lucite one available, but my son likes blue and he may get it for Christmas.
Yeah, the seller says it has no maker's name on it and hoping it'll take an 18mm knot because I have a couple of them. Even if I have to enlarge the diameter of the hole.
He's impatient on a brush. Fails to understand break in period, but he really likes synthetic. I gave him a synthetic re-knot last Christmas and he handed me his boar brush he accidentally broke at college. I cleaned and repaired it, but didn't want it back; he liked the synthetic better.
I just got done restoring the handle from an Ever-Ready 1, but had to order a 20mm boar for it, a barbershop type brush. Waiting for it from China is the hardest part. I'm really getting to like these types of brushes. You also got me interested in the Lime Beater, which I will now be on the look out for, a good looking brush.
Since I REALLY REALLY like Tech razors (save my love for my wife), I saw this vintage military patch and had to get it. Needs a little cleaning, but I like it for my USMC Marine assault back pack.
Just purchased the below Gillette Slim 1963. 8 April expected delivery. This will be only my second vintage razor. It will keep my Fatboy G1 company.
