I meant to reply to this sooner. No need to hunt for any Williams. Sling me an addy. I got 15 or 16 cakes around the place.

He's near the Birmingham AL area, the water should be fairly soft coming out of those hills. Probably gonna work just fine.

Thank you and will do! Surely this is Williams is guaranteed to be the one, it's from the the master stash!

I can try it with my CO tap water, bottled spring water, distilled water, and good old KY water. AL too. It will be a fun experiment, and should give some insight in to the soap for people who aren't actually familiar.

    Sounds like a plan.

For the record I opened a cake of older stuff today. Needed something to put in my old foley scuttle. It lathered like the new stuff to me. I will be using both, but more of the new stuff until I use that cake up.

Today has been exciting for a number of reasons. Some historically bad storms came through the area for much of the day. There were thunderstorms. Oh, the storms! It seems that there were tornadoes and hail all around us (within a few miles) but they seemed to barely miss us, and for that I am thankful. All is finally calm and I am enjoying sitting on the porch and listening to wildlife slowly climb back out of hiding.

My wife and I took advantage of being stuck inside and went to work on our bathroom, which has been in a state of flux for some time. End result? I finally have something resembling a shave den. My daughter and I have been working on a little cabinet we rescued from a second hand shop, and I finally got it mounted. It's amazing what I have amassed in less than a year of wet shaving, and I finally have a place for it within easy reach. I also took the time to wash all my razor before setting them up. I have them on two racks: one is a test tube rack, and the other a nice pipe rack that I repurposed. It has a humidor jar in the middle that is now slap full of fine Russian steel. Here's some pics of the results:

In the process of cleaning up, I came across something I had forgotten: my last cartridge razor, complete with one last cartridge. It has been a full year since I have used one. I decided to send it off with the least sexy shave I could muster. My shave of the day?

End result? Honestly, a perfectly acceptable result. But while it was fun to reminisce, I really didn't enjoy the process as much as I do with my vintage gear. So I send off my cartridge with this last hurrah. All in all, lots that could have gone wrong today: tornadoes, hail, strong winds, flash flooding, cartridge shaves... but all is well that ends well. I just don't want to see any of them again any time soon.

I am off to the mountains tomorrow with my bride. I may just bring the Magic along with me. Three days with my favorite Shavette could be just what the doctor ordered.

    PickledNorthern Fabulous, the unicorn

I never much minded having to scrub a little film from my razors, it was the vision of it caked completely around tens of thousand of individual badger hairs that was causing me the therapy bills.
