You can safely guess that today's shave was really close and really smooth. It didn't quite meet the Hussy test for longevity yesterday but I've switched in a Personna blade so we'll see how that changes things. In the meantime... :happy036:

    Hot water preparation
    AOS Lavender PSO
    Haslinger Schafmilch Shave Soap
    T&H Wellington Super Badger
    Schick E1

    Happy shaving everyone - Karl

    BEFORE BED SHAVE

    Razor: Merkur 33c
    Blade: Astra SS (3rd)
    Soap: Williams Mug
    Brush: Omega S-Brush
    Post Shave: Aloe Lotion

Another amazing shave tonight. So good in fact that I am going to try a 4th shave with this blade on Friday. I usually go 3 and out, but this shave was so good I'm going for 4. I will say it from now until I can no longer shave...the Astra SS is the greatest blade ever made by far !!!

I'm officially a fan of Jeeves of Hudson Street. My prior experience was with their "Turkish Bath" soap which is a bit too powdery for my taste, but I continue to use the soap because the performance overrides any misgivings I may have with regard to the fragrance. When I saw that they had a "Black Tea" soap, I figured it would be a good fit. I anticipated it being a singular black tea fragrance, but I was very surprised with the accompaniment. The mellow, slightly smoky, black tea is unmistakable, but gentle tobacco and citrus fill out the fragrance quite nicely. This is not the type of fragrance that packs a punch, so it's light by nature, but I would love to see this translated into an aftershave splash. Regardless, "Black Tea" is permanently in my rotation.

Second shave to try the Lord Super Platinum. I had a comment last night about the Classic SS being better so I'm lining it up for the next blade after I finish this one. That will keep me going three more shaves and give a good direct comparison.

The only change in the setup tonight was the higher setting on the Slim and I used the new WSC Synthetic. Very nice feel to this brush, very similar to the Maggard knot and it made more than enough lather for three passes with extra to go around. As I get the hang of using the synthetics I'm pretty impressed. Not sure I can ever abandon my other brushes, but the synths are nice for sure.

Three passes to a near BBS tonight with a smooth feel and no issues. The blade was more obvious at 6 than at 3 last night but that's to be expected and it didn't cause any problems or discomfort. We'll see how it works wide open tomorrow.

Start of a new week and a new period and quarter at work today. It was good to get home and relax with my wife and....with my shave. Pretty good zen tonight.

Jeder Tag ist ein toller Tag für Tabacstag!
The usual superb shave with Tabac today. It's hard to beat this lather and the scent is nostalgic for me. The balm is really good, too - a tiny bit covers my whole face and leaves my skin soft and renewed.
    Prep: Chatillon Lux butter
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Bronze Shadow
    Razor: Futur (6)
    Blade: voskhod
    AS: Tabac splash and balm
