Fine Russian steel in one of China's finest example of reverse engineering. Why not! First shave with the Ming Shi 2000S went off without a hitch. Let me tell you even at level 2 on the adjuster this razor is plenty aggressive. Although aggressive the shave wasn't overly harsh, even though there is a good amount of blade feel. It was however very efficient, 3 passes brought home the baby. Even now 10 hours later and I'm still feeling smooth! Have a great day My friends!

We had a relatively easy divorce after already be separated both physically & emotionally. After 30 years of being together, she'd like to think I'd been trained to her way of thinking. I thought the same of her. Didn't take but hours being in the same place for old married habits, good & bad to begin reappearing. By the time they left, we were both glad she was headed home.

To me, the SS is much milder than the Aristocrat Jr. Both give good shaves, but the Aristocrat Jr has a bit of an edge to it that the SS doesn't seem to have.

Long, but very nice, day yesterday. Tuesday is my volunteer and guitar lesson day following by meeting a good friend for dinner and movie, which we do once a month. I finished up the Voskhod with three shaves yesterday and loaded the SS with a new Feather blade this morning. This was my first shave with a Feather DE blade in several weeks. It performs well for me, but it demands more respect than my other blades. I'm starting to see the bottom of the Eufros soap container. It has been one of my top soaps. Thankfully, I have another container waiting in the wings. :)

    Have a fantastic day!

Excellent shave this morning, this was my first time using a Dr Jon's soap and I was not disappointed. Very easy to lather, slick and with good protection. You take all that and factor in this wonderful scent, it's a keeper. It's been 4+ hours since I shaved and the AS is still going strong; wonderful vanilla scent with a spicy sandalwood background. It's one of my favorites. Have a great day folks!

Day 2 trial on the Personna Blues yesterday felt a little rough, like I should toss the blade, but I thought "that's ridiculous - a blade should have more than 2 shaves in it", so I forged on today for shave #3. This stupidity, combined with the fact that I shaved at lunchtime (forgetting that this would exclude my pre-shave shower from the routine) resulted in my neck experiencing my first DE razorburn, and my face getting several weepers, which is almost as unusual. I'm contemplating do I give this brand another chance down the road (as I have a few blades) or do I just move on with life? Either way, the shave and its after effects were enough of a bad experience for me that I may not be venturing away from the Astra SPs for a while and just be content to try out new soaps and creams for a while.

Sorry about today's bad shave. They happen to all of us occasionally. You might consider revisiting the Personna Blues in a few months after your further refine your DE shaving technique. You may find that they perform better then. Many of us have stories about how a certain brand of blades didn't perform well initially but were fine a few months later. :happy088:

I'll second this. The other thing to consider, is some blades play nice with some razors but not with others. It seems like any blade should work in any razor, and if your technique is pretty good, it can. Tiny changes in the head and the angle of the blade can make a big difference when you are learning though. Stick them in a drawer and revisit later.

That is my hope. I'm excited to try new creams and soaps coming in the pass around, and probably need to keep this as the only focus for the rest of the month.
