At least 3-4 of us are musicians of varying levels. You can't spam us with music. You can post up to like 5 clips on one post.

My wife and son are away too...

    So...

Since it's Easter Bunny weekend, I am about to surf 1976-1995 hip hop and post some true highlights.

The kick off... From the beginning. When it was a lyrical form and not commercial EDM.

    The Sound of Silence.

No, really. For once it's dead quiet in the house, and no traffic on the street. Just an occasional dog-bark. Nice.

Love that song. The sound of the guitars on that record heavily influenced my teen idols REM.

Wow. He's good. And the envelope filter and octave generator the guitarist is using sounds so cool with the swept bass attack. So. Cool.

I know that one, and enjoy how it captures the mood of the original. Great mix too.

I hear ghosts of this version in like 60% of REM, the one above was the demo.

I have been all over these guys lately. I figured you would dig the bass work.

While hip-hop/rap is on the table, I'm taking it a bit new school. Full disclosure: this is a brutally raw song. Language isn't bad. But subject matter is raw. It's not a feel good song, but it is straight fire.
