April Adjustable in Blue ToBS Eaton College, B-400 WD HMB Weck Sextoblade, Gillette Starburst Soap Commander Respect Balm ToBS is high on my list of want to buy a full tub soaps list. I like the glide & residual slick. The scent of EC agrees with me. Using a cream works well with badger knots so the High Mountain Whipped Dog came up. Moistened the brush, dipped into the oversized sample tub ( Thanks John @Sparrow!), and face lathered. Too thick at first, went to the wetted suribachi and brought up the expected lather. Open bladed shaving allows for Adjustment of Angle and the long disposable blades are familiar. Not tall like a 6/8 straight. More like the Sayuri kamisori the Brian @mrchick started sharing around. Two passes N to S, and E to W above chin line with neck receiving N to S & S to N. Followed up with two all over clean up passes using a Personna Med Prep in the Gillette Super Speed head equipped long handle DE. Not sure why but I rinsed then skipped alum again and went straight for the balm. Nice DFS for a Saturday. Good Shaves Y'all!

Thanks guys! I agree. While waiting on knots, this mornings project was SWMBO approved storage, solved nicely by an $8 belt rack at Home Depot. I wish all my projects were this easy. I'm tempted to try to steam out that Sterling knot, but I'm sure the law of averages will make it a complete disaster after the easy storage project this morning!

Fun morning! The shave was nice. Soap Commander always works so well. Great lather and post shave feel. The Personna injector is nice and mild and works well also. No complaints. Have a great day!

Thanks, Charlie! Penhaligon's is a nice soap and is better than I initially thought. I have always liked the scent, but I was amazed at how well the soap performed today. I didn't get a very good load this morning, and still worked enough lather for about 5 passes. It was slick and had plenty of cushion. I would put it a little behind Stirling, Route 66, and Stubble Trubble, but it is a good performing soap. It is very hard, so it should last a while.

April 15th, 2017... I didn't need to shave this evening, I CHOSE to shave. Two days worth of stubble. So how did the Schick E3 Injector on the 6th use of the Injector blade fair? The Simpson brush soaking in a cup of hot water while I enjoyed a nice shower. Since it is a new week for me, it is time to rotate the soap. The Mariana Cottage shaving soap did a good job, but it was time to move onto something different. Something new. I've heard a lot of Stirling, and had brought Pharaoh's Dreamsicle with me. Shaking out the brush I began lathering on the brush. It didn't take long to start getting some lather. Time wise, I'd say this ranks right alongside Dr. Jon's shaving soap. Scent wise, it probably the strongest I've sniffed. With is really sad actually. I don't care if it smells like baby vomit or dog poo, I want someone that fills my nostrils and bathroom when I remove the lid and start whipping up that creamy delicious lather. But whip up lather it did, so no real complaints. Three passes... all went well with corresponding reduction in growth. It felt so slick sometimes I had to consciously slow myself down some less I get some nicks or weepers. I think I might have gotten a nick or two on the third pass on the neck, but it was hard to tell. Then came time for the touch ups. The biggest areas were on my neck and under the jaw. I think I'm going to need to take a picture of my ugly mug and highlight the areas for suggestions. I'd splash some water on my face, brush some lather on, and go at it with the razor. Then on to the next spot. Lather (haha), Rinse, Repeat. At this point I can feel the irritation coming. After a few passes without lather, then a few more with, some nicks, I decided to call it a day. The alum was quiet on my cheeks, upper and lower lips, but it lit my neck up like the 4th of July. But calmed shortly. The Margaritas balm confirmed I was alive. I'll say a solid B shave. I don't know what to do about the neck though. Some patches just don't want to go away no matter which way the razor goes. Maybe I need to try cold water on the touchups? Or maybe give cold water another try?
You didn't mention it but have you tried skin stretching on the earlier passes. I stretch my skin with my off hand as I make my XTG pass over my trouble spots. This helps avoid having to make so many passes and touch ups. I also have one spot on my right lower neck that I just don't get perfect most days.
I do stretch. Use my off hand, tilt my head, contort my face, whatever I can do. But maybe I'm stretching wrong? If anyone has a good face stretching video is be happy to watch it. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
As everyone knows, Saturday is a no shave day for moi. Yesterday I found my VDH razor. It was in the back of the vanity wrapped up in a piece of silicon cloth. So I wiped it down and decided to use it again. I only used it for a month when I first started this thing of ours. When I got my DE89BL I put it away. Since I'm not really enamored of the Parker 99r, I'm thinking of adding the VDH to the rotation. So tomorrow with a Wilkinson Sword loaded, it's a trip down memory lane for Easter.
I almost never use something more then one day in a row. That being said, I have used my Jayaruh #137 Synthetic for the last 3 shaves. I am having to learn how it works. This is my first time using asynthetic. The brush has an Ace knot in it. I am determined to learn the trick to it,and will continue to use it until I do.
