The best caliber is the one you're most comfortable using and will carry. But just like they say "Beware the man with one gun..." the same applies to shaving. "Beware the man with one razor..."
And now that I have the firearms cans of worms wide open and wiggling on the floor, shall we toss the pot debate into the mix? It got opened bigtime up here this week: the federal government introduced legislation on Thursday to legalize marijuana for both medicinal and recreational use across the country... while trying both to keep it out of the hands of minors and to prevent stoned driving... And much of the regulation will fall within the jurisdiction of the provinces... The next couple years of debates, arguments, intergovernmental negotiations, and general handwringing and doomsaying are going to be interesting...
I can settle the defensive handgun question. If GAWD carried a hand gun it would have .45 in the name. Carry on.
As someone who is in Colorado, where it's 100% legal as of three years ago, there have been zero noticeable changes to society, other than the economy improved a ton, and tourism boomed. It will work itself out locally. It's really much less of a big deal than you think it's going to be, but the media will hype it because it will drive ratings.
I am leaving the rest of this stuff alone for now...you know the shaving bunnys and these strange people that like Glocks and stuff.
It is good to take a detour through a open field now and then. Just watch out for the bull.....he gets kinda moody.
That's pretty much what I personally think the end result will be here too, but I fully expect an enormous amount of public fuss, flap, feathers and hot air before then. Especially since the legislation was just introduced as a bill with a proposed implementation date of July 2018. But first it has to go through multiple readings and debates and committee reviews in both the House of Commons and the Senate before it's passed. Probably with the committees doing lengthy public hearings and maybe, if the members want a nice vacation jaunt, even extensive "public consultations" clear across the country. And then repeat the same thing as each province decides how it's going to regulate the trade in the now-legal drug... Like I said, the next couple years are going to be a three-ring circus inside a zoo...
