Coffee! Decadence, eh? Tonight . . . roasting coffee for the next week! I think I'll try the Ethiopia I've been meaning to roast up, and some more of my Sumatra Blue Batak, and maybe a bit of the Mandheling. I've also got to figure out what I'm going to roast for a couple of friends who buy from me.
tell me, good sir, of your roasting techniques. We have a few here who dabble and I, for one, enjoy roasting in a cast iron pot. Cheap and effective, I must say. Having a sip of my latest addition to the bar:
I've not yet tried roasting in the cast-iron pot. I started, as many of us do, with the good ol' air popper. Now I've moved up to a heat gun because I have too many people asking me to roast for them. *grin* I'm also putting together, for sake of "I did it" a charcoal-fired "hobo roaster" with a coffee can, soup can, and some 9-gauge steel wire. I've been watching thrift stores for a good cast-iron kettle I could use, and my two skillets are quite dedicatedly kitchen implements.

Medenica. It is a Croatian alcohol brought back by the parents of a friend. The label would be totally illegal in France. There’s absolutely no information on it.
