Bama Samurai's legal team wants to tell you that if you follow this advice, you may be deemed hero, fool, or both by those around you. Bama Samurai is not a razor designer, he's a redneck with a smartphone. Carry on.
I'm all in for the Small Lily kamisori. Might even try the Popsicle stick shavette I step away for a few minutes and mayhem breaks out. This went waaay passed shenanigans. Is there a limit to the amount or type of tape? This ought to be a Friday night shave so faces have maximum time to begin healing before Monday work day.
Let it be known that the insanity of said proposal was realized apart and independently from, and participants in no way hold liable, any and all resident rednecks or samurai whether cell phone enabled or cell phone oppressed. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Awesome April 17-18 April SR versus Shavette 17 April Monday was the day for a proper straight shave. The strop in play is a Drygulch Leatherworks 45 series. Yes, our @Drygulch. Adam is also an official supporting vendor who is a great resource for strops and SR info of all types. He also has other things on his Etsy storefront, just PM him and he'll clue you in! We're lucky to count him amongst the 30DC. My 45 series is black leather strop with a black poly webbing element. The Aust received 35 laps on the leather and 20 on poly. Face was coated with the Turkish goodness and pass one started on the side burn. The immediate difference I noticed is the sound of the beard breaking as the bevel wedge snaps them off cleanly. Alluding to a thought I posted yesterday, this is a confidence razor for me, as I did over half my first hundred shaves with this exact razor. This razor was actually a gift from @Keithmax , and I am proud to show it every time it comes out. This blade likes the typical two spine angle that is suggested, and the @gssixgun finished edge is still AAAA good! Keith asked if this was epic, and I likely would have caught it with a third touch pass in the jaw corners. The main difference in feel between the Voskhod loaded Parker SRX and the Aust mainly is due to blade width. It results in a different stroke pattern and lower count, as a result shaving itself was a bit quicker with less strokes. I would also describe the edge of the Aust as having a "softer" edge feel. Hard to explain, really. Very comfortable shave with no blood and almost no burn from the Veg. 18 April Back to the Parker. If you wanna try a shavette that handles and behaves kind of like a straight, this is it. Arko Veg Parker SRX Voskhod This could be a forever kit. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Crazy busy day today, and just now catching up on all the posts. I will just state for the record up front that I will not be shaving with a finger razor. ***Last Night's Shave: -Tula 5/8 SP -Simpson Tulip -Soap Commander Passion -Stirling Island Man I always end up with an excellent shave from this razor. ***Dumpy Motel 4:00 AM Shave -Feather DX -Maggard 22mm Black Fiber -Stirling Gin and Tonic Soap and A.S. Just a two and a half passer or thereabouts with a cup of coffee to get my head screwed on straight. I love the shorter head on the Feather. Can't wait to try a shortened straight. ***Tonight's End of a Long Day Shave: -Brian Brown 6/8 -Doug Korn DK7 w/Envy White -Stirling Port au Prince -Stirling Green A.S. In some ways shaving with this razor is like an extreme sport, but in an other way of looking at it, it makes you slow down and be deliberate. It is not the easiest razor to use that I own, but it has a wicked sharp edge on it, and gives a great shave. Goodnight all.
SOTD April 19, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick L1 injector Brush: Omega 10049 boar Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave WTG, touch-up Great shave! Will be on the road today driving to Chicago. This is our Spring Trip for high school band. We'll be touring the sites and performing at the Willis SkyTower on Friday. Fun times! Have a great day!
Parker SRX Shavette Gillette Silver Blue (3) Semogue BC Cerda Iced Orange Tea Arko SS Alum Had a little extra time and was feeling it, so I grabbed the shavette for my first weekday shave. Two north to south passes for a nearly blood and irritation free shave. Just one little spot under the nose. Not the closest shave (that will improve with technique), but comfortable and presentable enough to get me through work.
What would make a badger from Manchuria feel more welcome in a new neighborhood? I figured an abstract but fragrant plant at the top of an Austrian mountain with yodeling Arians surrounding it was worth a try. (Speik for those of you just catching up). The badger took to its new home like white on rice! The new brush is a great lather maker, very silky smooth, and just the right size to apply soap accurately and fully without getting in a badger smackdown cage match. We have a winner!!! (And it is me!)
April 19 SOTD: Razorock Plissoft Brush Stirling Cool SS Gillette New Stirling Unscented PSB Barbasol Pacific Rush AS I used a Big Ben blade for the first time in quite a while. I went with two passes, no clean up and got a DFS. With the Stirling Cool, it was a nice shave. Pacific Rush makes for a good finish as well. A good start to my Wednesday. I hope everyone has a great day!
