I don't think I have the entergy to read all the post I missed since yezterday. Anyone have the cliff notes?

 

As I told someone the other day, people here give me strange looks when I mention how much the pre work shave improves the night. Poor people.

 

Jared is our main man on the Northern edge of the prairie.

 

We treat this as the party that never ends. It's a thread, sure, but the idea is just to have a place where new guys and more experienced guys can talk with no pretense.

But, somehow, even if it gets a bit long... Every month a couple or three really make good progress on the road to blade nirvana. I am selfish. I take pleasure and satisfaction in watching others succeed in a skill endeavor. I know how good it feels, and I like to watch it happen over and over again.

 

Oh yeah. The finger razor phenomenon. That was a new one. And as nuts as that probably is, I don't doubt the skill exists amongst this crew to pull it off.

Hold on, that's my attorney's ring tone, BRB....

Third and final shave for the Merkur blade in the Fatboy. Opened wide to 9 and away we go. The purpose of these last three shaves was just a kind of scientific test of whether or not the Merkur was as bad as I remembered. And the answer is......it's not my favorite still but definitely not as useless as I first thought last year when I used it the first time. Tonight's shave was a bit rougher than the last but the razor could be part of it and the irritation was a bit higher on the alum. I don't think it's all due to the razor setting but I'll have to put a little on the blade. It was definitely just a touch draggy. Seems like three shaves may be the limit on this blade.

As for the finish it's another DFS. Nice but not as nice as some. Clearly this blade lacks some sharpness and a bit of durability it would seem. But.....it's better than last year which means my technique is apparently that much better. Even the ones I wrote off are more usable at this point. Now, would it make a Tiger or Flying Eagle workable? I have serious doubts but I may get around to revisiting that as well.

Blues are leading the Wild 3-0 in the series but are trailing in the second period at the moment....so......they need a little help!!

I am pretty sure the EU readers think we are sociopathic, moonshine (whiskey) swilling, gun-toting horse thieves; with a collectively bizarre sense of humor about violence and mayhem.

 

I wouldn't mind waking up to a win, but it would be too good to be true. The Wild are playing good hockey and the Blues are hanging on.
