The TSD Lime Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Bunny B-400 Cashmere synthetic brush. I did two passes the H. Böker 5/8 razor, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tonight's shave was with a nice Sheffield made razor, touched up on the SB Arkie stone. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. No issues at all, just a nice, clean, and smooth shave.

Had a great shave yesterday. Love the scent of Petrichor, earthy but clean, it's hard to find a earthy scent that doesn't smell like dirt but B&M nailed it. Thick lather was plentiful and protective. Finished off with some Local Gent balm for the perfect post shave.

FRIDAY'S SHAVE

Post: B&M Figgy Puddin aftershave


Today's shave was less than stellar. Ended up with several wheapers and face is burning a bit. The Omgea Fructi hard soap smells amazing and paired well with Figgy Puddin. It is pretty strong for a hard soap, and it whipped up a nice lather with ease. Ended up with a very smooth BBS shave, but it came at a cost since my face is on fire. Hope everyone had a great shave!

Great first shave with this duckling. Honed it last night, it took a bevel very well, helped that the edge was in good shape. Once done took hairs off the arm with ease. Has a ring to it that none of my others have when cutting a hair. Amazing shaver.

I just realized that this week has become a real Turkey of a week. Arko and Derby. Both Turkish products. Yeah, so I'm a little slow. I never claimed to be the sharpest tack in the box. Anyway, I opened the Slim to 6 and grabbed the JR46 after a long day and started in.

Whatever the "premium Swedish steel" is it seems to work just fine. Two passes and at the more "normal" 6 it was a completely smooth and quite effective shave. And the finish with just a bit of work on the neck is as close to BBS as you can get without quite being there. Or else it's there and I just don't want to admit it. Either way it is an incredibly nice finish. And the alum - quiet as it can be. No issues at all with the shave.

It's pretty obvious that the Derby Premium is not a bad blade at all when handled correctly. We'll take it to 9 on the Slim tomorrow and then switch to three days on the Extra to see what differences may be found. If the shaves stay the way they have the past two nights it's going to be a few nice and easy days.

Good morning all, best wishes to you. Here's a look at my SOTD for today-



For today's shave I used one of my 1938 Gillette Senators, in a repurposed New Standard case that I fixed up for it. It's a shame these razors weren't originally available with a hard case. But anyway the blade used was a 1948 Gillette Blue Blade. Lather was provided by XXX RazoRock, and a Simpsons Duke 2 best badger brush. Aftershave was Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve splash. Cologne was a combo of 4711/Bulgari Extreme. I'm seriously enjoying the cornucopia of scents. I rate this two pass Shave as a full scale BBS, with 0 touch up, and no nicks no cuts and no weepers.
