Things look normal in here. It is not needed but Aye! I see more pink stuff was thrown around. Ok light red maybe. Lot of brush talk. I will follow the group on that one! I will be hiring an assistant to keep up with things here when I am not around.

I said much the same thing. It is what we have been preaching. It finally got a name. There is a thread around I think about it. Of course real razors (SE) are built for it more so then these 2 sided contraptions.

There was a "Riding the Cap" 30 day focus, right here...but I don't think that was the origin of the term...more of a carving it in stone....

If this is the origin...I think The Bama -Dude needs a shaving pulitzer...dig this poetry all you shave dudes gather round and groove to this cat's funky sound:

[What does "riding the cap" mean?

To "ride the cap" of a three-piece DE razor (or any DE razor really) means to employ a shallow angle of attack through grip angle. The idea is that the top cap of the razor should remain in contact with the skin at all times during the stroke. This technique has a few advantages, and can be used with great effect on hyper aggressive razors, like Cadet, Muhle r41, or Fatip. First, a little about razor design...]

I think you are right Fuzzy...I've sent some smoke signals to Bama to try and verify if this was the first time ever...
We need to save the "first time" for posterity....:bounce017::bounce015:
Although I think you are reet! Anything this profound must have been inspired by a real razor (SE maybe :innocent)

Remember the OCMM hold flat against the face instruction. The "natural angle" razors. Yup they had it right.

I still have a small leaning towards cypress and my own knot. However, I may be inclined to defer to the speaker if the group feels that a consensus design enhances the feeling of a "Limited Edition" 30 day crew brush. The risk of following the head lemming here is much less than that of shaving with a shard of a samurai sword, and I've already made that leap! Besides, conformity may prevent a filibuster! If not I'm going back to my Louisiana cypress with no knot. In all seriousness, whatever makes Jason's life the easiest gets my vote!

I was thinking of either the Cashmere Synthetic or transplanting an Omega 10066 Boar knot.

    Several thoughts here:
    1. Frank's frugality is not diminished by the fact that he just spent a year salary on soap. I agree. Very Italian, and I enjoyed the analogy.
    2. The word bloviate was used as a humorous tongue-in-cheek reference. You have to admit, Shavette Fu, you tend to set the "longest post" record on a regular basis. Nothing wrong with that, and I enjoy reading them, but you have to admit their length and intensity also subject you to receiving mild sarcasm, which I will be doling out in his equal proportion to everyone as I can. Unfortunately the length and tenacity of your quotes opens you up more than most. In the US there is a phrase "the first one to poke his head out of the foxhole get shot". It applies here.
    3. My pictures, as I would presume to be true for many of the members here, are often posted for no other reason than to show equipment or share a thought using something less than 1000 words. That slant in the picture above is worth well more than 1000 words to me, regardless of its composition. It is just one sweeeet looking piece of machinery. If I plan post a picture like one of Doug or Clints ( or several other amateur photographers here) that is suitable for framing, I will sign it and offer it up as a limited edition 30 day print. Otherwise assume my photos are just snapshots designed to reduce the length of my posts and communicate something cool.

Shave on and post on shavette fu! I'm enjoying the bloviating! :)

Finishing off Lumberjack yesterday necessitated a new soap for the last day of the week. I went with Route 66 Bay Lime Twist. The name of the soap is certainly appropriate as it is Bay Rum with a Lime Twist. You have the notes of Bay but accompanied by a blast of lime. I pick up secondary notes of floral and other citrus as I lather. This is really a great scent and just seems to fit the warm weather we are having. Thank you again @wristwatchb for your generous Christmas gift. I can confidently say that I will truly enjoy this soap.

The CH2 Synthetic loaded and lathered the Bay Lime Twist easily. You certainly get the lime and bay scent up front. Many times straight citrus scents dissipate fairly quickly but I think the other notes gave the scent more staying power. With no reason to mess with success, I stayed with my normal 3 pass shave paying particular attention to my trouble spots as I went. The baby was so close that I had to chase the little guy. Rubbing on some lather I buffed my lower right neck and touched up the jaw line. Mission complete and baby caught with no nicks or irritation. I finished off the shave with a splash of Folsom & Co Shambala. Overall I would give this shave an A+.

I am glad that weekend is here even if I have to mix in a little business today. I need to visit a client that owns and operates a veterinarian practice to discuss 1st quarter financial results. Luckily the practice is close to my mom's house. So I will get to visit her and go out for a early dinner. I am thinking some fried catfish might be in order. :eatdrink020: I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Not quite as good a shave this morning with the Schick Adjustable, the blades needs to be changed. The MdC was as great as ever, and the finish with some TSD English Fern helped to improve the shave. I hope everyone has a great day!

Thank Jim. It's a pretty easy day since the business is doing fantastic and I am delivering only good news. The hardest part is the drive. With the interstates screwed up because of the collapse, I have to take the back way which means about 3 hours drive time for the round trip. Since mom lives near lake country, I am craving some fried catfish and hush puppies.

The more I think on it, I have to go badger. Badger to me offers the most difference in character. The same knot, with just a little difference in set, is an entirely different brush. I will probably go Envy, and I don't actually have one of his silvertips yet, so I think that will be it.

This calls for a picture of a unicorn with a horn replaced by a pink shaving brush. I don't have the artistic ability to put that up there, I am only offering up the idea for fodder for everyone's fertile imagination, or as a suggestion for an art project for those among us with such a gift!
