Dr. Jon's Aphrodite Soap B-400 Brush by Tom Bismarck #2 Razor Lucky Tiger Pinaud Lilac Vegetal After Shave Have a great weekend!
Thanks! Very nice. In fact I'm thrilled. Two successful hones in a row, which is a new record for me.
It is really kind of a cool thing to sharpen your own razors. Before I ever started with it, I thought it was going to be mostly just a chore. I had no clue how much I was going to enjoy it. For a few weeks I was always working on one or another, then I got all caught up and now I don't have anything to do. I guess I need more project razors. Or a new finisher so I can start reworking all of them.
Why is that razor's handle red? Is that your blood? Oh, never mind, i just noticed that it's german. Never be said that german designs aren't renown for their beauty! Look at the Merkur Futur too! It seems as if an alien lost his lazer razor.
The Pace site lists three DE blades: DOUBLE EDGE BLADES - STD301 PRIME DOUBLE EDGE BLADES FOR MEN - ST301 PRIME PLATINUM DOUBLE EDGE BLADES FOR MEN - STP301 The STD301 blades from the dollar store come in an old-style dispenser similar to the OEM Israeli Personna blades. The ST301, despite the "Prime" reference are the normal Dorco blades you see everywhere. The "Prime Platinum" blades are the ones which are specifically branded "Prime" and are supposed to have a Teflon coating (something not mentioned on either of the other two blades). Just to totally confuse things, there is also the ST300 which, according to Dorco sources, is the same as the ST301, except for the packaging. I'm guessing that the STD301 blades are produced as inexpensively as possible with a minimum of coating/treatment. As for the Dorco hate, I think there is a lot of confusion between the various designations and the issue of Korea vs. Vietnam manufacture. This has me curious to try the Prime Platinum blades. @NCoxSTL, you want to weigh in on this?
I see. Here i 've never seen the STD blade. Not even in a swedish website that sells in our Amazon and has the weirdest of blades. I have the ST301 made in Korea and like it very much. The Prime Platinum in a local forum i read it's sharper than the 301. That's the only reason i didn't buy them. I am afraid they might be "too sharp" for me, as the ST301 are already very sharp.
The more brash you get, the more I think I like you, Shavette Fu! Straight from the gulag, baby! Seems the easier route for sure. I am of Scottish descent Frank. You have no idea! Having said that, I know of no other way of getting a plissoft silvertip synth than to buy it in a razorock handle. For 20 bucks total, it's still not too expensive a knot, though.
I want either a Shapton 16K or a Dan's Black Arkansas. I would probably go with the Shapton, but honestly I don't think I can justify the cost. I maybe want a different 8k but that can wait. Otherwise I am good for now unless I start buying a ton of razors.
Exactly. This reminds me, I do not have a boar brush that I like. I have an omega pro which is way too freaking big, so I am making the executive decision to find just the right boar brush to go in Jasons handle. Extracting one from an existing Semogue or Omega handle is completely within the realm of possibility. Here is the part where you, my Shave brethren, throw out suggestions and arguments until we come close to fisticuffs, or something distracts us down another rabbit trail… GO!
Omega 10066 Boar will fit in the handle perfectly. Sacrifice the Omega handle and then cut off the black cup Omega uses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And you should have seen me, in an hobby that i know better! Here's another one, to understand how enjoyable it is to read Italians. This is the most critical Dorco ST301 review on my Amazon: Translation: "Greetings and have a good 1st May. For me, destructive blades, they literally almost sliced my throat. ISIS thanks They cut brutaly and i find them a bit unrefined, but maybe i was used to Personna Platinum. I don't know, but let me see...I still have 99 left. Worst case, i will end up with the face of the Thing, in the Fantastic 4. Ahahaha. Goodbye, i am bleeding, i have to go. Greetings and have a good festivity". You won't be reading such reviews in the german Amazon, that's for sure! Ah, Highlander, Sean Connery and Braveheart! So much choice! Who to pick!
I've purchased three Cremo versions. The Lady Cremo went to my Lady friend before I tested it. I assume it's just the scent that makes it different from Regular. She approves and uses it. Regular formula is great bang for the buck lather, and lather it does. If you are into mentholated lather, the Cooling is right up there with C.O.Bigelow/ Proraso Green. A dab of Cremo added to other soaps also works for "SuperLather". Guess I got lucky, mines just a general reminder to think before I post. Embrace your Inner Idiot. You'll be sporting a CT before you know it! Here's the Omega line up for a visual reference. Check websites for dimensions.
