What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Mr. Chick. I took a look at my Case Temperite wedge I noticed many similarities to your Craftsman razor. The scales, the curve on the front end of the spine, the shoulders and tang look just like my razor. Hmm... I wonder if it's the same razor.

 

Looks pretty darned close.

 

Tonight's shave was with a nice Sheffield made razor, touched up on the SB Arkie stone. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. No issues at all, just a nice, clean, and smooth shave.

The TSD Lime Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Bunny B-400 Cashmere synthetic brush. I did two passes the H. Böker 5/8 razor, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

I used my Case "Temperite" wedge and had a great two pass shave. That's Williams soap in the mug.

First time with this razor and first time with a Kamisori. @Sparrow sold me this fine Inoue Tosuke and @gssixgun honed it. I've had several folks tell me you really don't have to shave with the stamp side out but, being stubborn and up for a challenge, I decided to complete three passes with the Omote (flat side) against my face at all times.

First, the good news, I was able to end up with a very nice shave with minimal noise from the alum. Second, when the angle was right it was a smooth shave. As you might imagine, the grip and angles can become challenging for certain passes. The left side WTG was the most difficult for me. I also managed to drag the point for a nice one and quarter inch slice going XTG on my right cheek by the jawbone when I didn't get it flat across the length of the blade.

This will take some practice but I was satisfied with the first attempt. No telling how long before I break down and use both sides. I do like the shorter cutting edge and can see how these could be fantastic head shavers - yeah, it's tempting.
