So my question is ......if someone bleeds out does his shaving gear need to be sent to a central point to be spread around among the survivors?
No. It's the Internet. Unfortunately they just fail to ever log back in. Sucks really, but on the flip side, Popsicle Shavette did go 8/8 with nobody on the DL.
I'm sure it'll be a while, since no one here is likely to mention it again or try any sort of goading or name calling to get me to use it. Besides, I'm known for my patience and restraint. You know, the "meek shall inherit the earth" kinda thing... You don't actually let your wives communicate with each other do you. At best, this seems risky. This begs the question of why anyone would put a "strawberry nut M&M" in their mouth in the first place. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it has something to do with MAYhem or drinking, or both. This looks like a Shave sensei version of Chinese water torture to me. If it doesn't work out for you, send the rest of those blades to shavette fu. He loves those derbys, and only has enough of them to make it two thirds of the way through the shave apocalypse . See? No goading expected at all. Who's next?
Gillette LC New BRW Improved Handle Gillette Silver Blue Semogue BC MIstura TOBS Avocado I have to give a presentation Thursday at work, so the shavette will need to wait until after that is done.
April 25, 2017 Wolfman Ti WR1 (.74) OC with Hempel Ti Feather (1) “Amigos” Elite Ironwood Beehive with Envy White Route 66 Bay Lime Twist Running a little behind this morning but I still managed to get another great shave in before dashing out the door. It really helps when everything plays well together. Pretty much an automatic 2 pass near BBS shave. I did get one weeper so I would grade the overall shave as an A-. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
SOTD April 25, 2017 Blade: GEM Stainless Razor: GEM Featherweight Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Stirling Sandpiper Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sandpiper aftershave WTG, touch-up Nice shave with Stirling Sandpiper soap and the GEM Featherweight. The badger brush had no problems creating some incredible lather. Stirling can take SO much water and I used a lot in building up a shiny and slick lather. The qualities of Stirling are top-notch. Great stuff. Nice shave in the end. Have a great day!
Wow! What a gorgeous shot, Clint. I'm becoming more and more embarrassed with my hasty "iphone in the bathroom" shots. Don't get me wrong, I have no plans to change them or work on any personal improvement as a result, but at least I wanted to acknowledge my embarrasement in front of the group... Kind of like AA: Hello, my name is Randy and I'm a lazy photographer. My last good picture (cute kids withstanding) was 479 days ago.
On to the first morning report from Slantville. The shave should have been relatively uneventful, but I created a few weepers just from being mesmerized by the Frankenstein, Funhouse factor of the slant. Kinda similar to being distracted by a lake in golf... without it there would be a 0% chance of hitting your drive in a way that would make it smash into the ground 50 yards ahead of you, but put a lake there and voila! Once I slapped myself back to reality everything was fine. Overall impressions: Much more auditory feedback than I was used to. (Lots of loud buttering of toast sounds coming from the razor). Not as smooth as my regular razor, and the end result was really not significantly improved from my standard shave, but it was definitely a DFS without serious incident, if you ignore the aforementioned distracted user. There has been feedback on the "traveling slant" thread that the Astra SP has not paired well for some with this razor, so I'll give it a whirl with a few more blades before making any decisions. Feedback from anyone who's already traveled this road is always welcome. Well not always, but... Nevermind, just chime in with whatever buffoonery you can muster.
I might have done better loading this morning, but the Rte 66 covered my face real well, like a blanket.
25 April 2017 Blade/Soap Focus Shave This morning I beat the alarm by 45 minutes waking up at 0500. So I slid out of bed without waking Herself. Went downstairs, broke out the iron and ironing board and pressed my uniform. Buffed my shield and ran the buffing cloth from my shoeshine kit over my boots. Then I returned to my den, broke out the Razorock XXX. Using JR#161 there was a plentiful, slick, fragrant lather in no time. Since I had the time and inclination, a 3 pass BBS was accomplished using the SS BT/GSB combo. Splashed on some Cella Lozione Dopobarba and suited up for work. Looking sharp, I headed off for another day in the exciting world of corporate security. Have a good 'un. HOOAH!
