My first DE Shave in ages, always a bit worried things will go awry but made sure that I concentrated and did not rush. Used a modest 2.5 setting and had a nice smooth Shave, which resulted in a nice close all round finish. When returning to the occasional DE Shave, I stick with the Lab Blues which I got before the saga of the white wrappers. As I do not use them often I have enough to last me out ;)

    Pan-Galactic Wednesday
Superb shave today with 42. Slugger 159 did a great job lathering - the soft knot and wooden handle seemed to work effortlessly. I think this knot is similar to the HIS knot, but perhaps more dense.

    Hey Friends,

it´s Wednesday and i had a very good shave. Here is what i´ve used:

Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89 // Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra // Soap: Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica // Brush: Rubberset Replica // Aftershave: Floid Blue

The razor is fantastic. Very gentle and smooth and it gives me nearly everytime a perfect shave. With the blade it is a great combination. The lather was outstanding again and my bathroom smelled wonderful. At least i used my Floid Blue to get this "Barbershop" feeling. It works. Memories kicked in...a shame that this Aftershave is discontinued. That is the reason why i use it not often. But if i use it, i use it with pure joy and love.

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and take care.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Excellent shave with the Gillette Mach 3 Disposable this morning. Three passes for a dolphin smooth and refreshing finish. Enjoy your day friends. :)

All I really needed were two passes to get the job done but I was enjoying the Glacial Wintergreen's frigidly-cold lather so much that I opted for a third pass and I got an even better BBS shave. The matching balm and witch hazel completed the job in fine, freezing style! :happy088: :happy088:

    Pre: Warm water splash
Razor: Fendrihan closed comb DE / Astra SP
    Cream: GFT Coconut Oil
    Brush: Semogue
Post: Witch Hazel / Proraso Green ASB

This is a really nice combination of products and it always results in a darn near perfect shave every time. For some reason lately I have been experiencing some irritation and small red bumps on my neck (not razor bumps and not ingrown hairs). A rare occasion for me...not sure of the cause. But fortunately I do know the cure. When this happens I usually go back to one of my basic shaves...a DE with an Astra SP, a moisturizing rich cream, like GFT and a soft boar brush. I don't really need any post shave product with the GFT Coconut...it leaves my skin feeling really good with just a warm facecloth post shave and Witch Hazel...but I just can't resist...I do love the scent of the Proraso green ASB!

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 injector
    Brush: JR #60 synthetic
    Lather: Stirling Dunshire
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dunshire aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Very nice shave with Stirling Dunshire and the Schick G1. Smooth is the word. Terrific, well-hydrated lather enabled the high quality of the shave. No complaints here.

    Have a great day!

and now an update...called an audible. Instead of the Clubman A.S. I used the Wind Drift by English Leather. Nice mix with the 66 Cavendish.

I chose a 4/8 Square Toe Japanese Frameback for today's shave. Don't bother to ask me the name of the razor, because it is all in Japanese symbols. I had used this razor once before and even though I was much less skilled then than I am now, I had gotten a very nice shave. Today's shave showed that this was a good choice.

I like the frameback because it is very flexible. It is almost as if the blade curves around my face.

Here are some questions for those with more info than I about straights:
Are frameback razors more flexible than other razors as a general rule?
Is there a type or brand of straight that is known for being flexible?

    DIY Pre-Shave Oil
    ABC Face Lathered
    2+ pass, WTG, XTG
24MM silvertip set an extra 10mm deep
    Sampsons All Natural Aftershave Balm

I killed it without realizing it, and without having full confidence to change it. I'm stuck.
