Adjustable April, where's my Arko? Musgo Real Lime Oil, Omega Pro98 Weck Sexto & fresh Personna SS blade '59 Gillette Fat Boy, Personna MedPrep Alum block, Lime Patchouli WitchHazel I can't help seeing reviews of products before I try them. I do try to research before I purchase. Musgo Real was available in The Soap Passaround so I snagged a sample despite what I'd heard. With moistened boar brush I attacked the lime oil chips. Slowly adding drips of water something that looked like lather appeared in my suribachi bowl. I applied it to bearded area and it dissipated. After adding the full amount of my sample and beating rented mule style I almost got a lasting lather. Large bubbles, no creaminess. It did provide enough slick to run the shavette around but no visual clue as to where I hadn't made a pass yet. Switching to the Fat Boy, giving the hard little chips of remaining soap one last chance, and employing The Norcalnewb Baseball Lathering Pattern© I finished the slightly scented but disappointing lather procedure. Alum sealed up the weeper on my jawline - fresh shavette blade properly muted. Splash of lime and patchouli infused WH for a decent smooth CCS finish. Afraid this soap isn't on my WTB list. Good Shaves Y'all!

You have nailed the Vetiver scent with this lineup. The MdC Vetiver and Fine Fresh Vetiver are a very good match. I might need to get some Tom Ford Grey Vetiver.
Stop it you! People would much rather have something hand made than paladin lettering! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
No need for self-deprecating around here. Someone is always around to depreciate whoever needs it. Welcome to the club. GAWD himself carved into a stone tablet that soaps should be face lathered. Not every one knows that.
Congratulations, @RyX! You just successfully completed an @NCoxSTL style shave using Pre-Shave Soap in place of Shaving Soap! Musgo Real does make a shaving soap -- it comes in a rounded cake, is opaque white, and smells of patchouli and vetiver (referred to by them as Classic Scent). The puck-shaped soaps that are a clear bright colour and smell of lime are specifically made as a pre-shave soap to cleanse the skin and soften the whiskers. Among other things, they contain alcohol for the drying effect. Definitely NOT intended for the actual shave as they are, if anything, anti-slip. I'm impressed you managed to get a lather built and do a working shave -- with a shavette yet!-- with it.
If I remember correctly, one of the the Marine Corps tenets is, "Every Marine is a rifleman, every rifleman is right handed".
Razor: Timeless SB 0.95, w/ El Druida Titanium & Carbon Fiber Handle Blade: Personna Star (5) Made in Great Britain Brush: Elite Razor Amigos Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White Soap: Route 66 Bay Lime Twist Aftershave: Myrsol Agua de Limon Boise Mudworks bowl Blue An excellent combination of shaving gear. Three passes with a clean up for another BBS shave. Although the El Druida handle is light at 30 grams it worked very well. That surprised me.
I can believe that, this sample might wash your face but didn't do well as a lather. I'll ask the Passaround thread. It may still be in The Box. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
