    Schick E3
    Astra SP
    Stirling Mountain Man
    Satin Tip The Purest
    Florida Water

Good morning friends! Last night I had my first MAYhem shave. My Schick E3 injector loaded with a modified Astra SP. The save felt very injectoresq with a a few subtle differences. First of all the save was smooth and the blade cut well, no issues with tugging and it didn't feel harsh or more aggressive then with an injector blade. So what were the differences ? First of all the DE blade in the injector was very loud, easily twice as much audible feedback as with a Chick blade. Secondly the blade didn't feel as rigid. Even after three passes there was still sound of the blade scraping whiskers, I though for sure I wasn't going to end up with a very close shave. After the 3rd pass, when rinsing off my face I was surprised at how close the shave actually was, just as close as when using a Chick blade. Overall I'd call this experiment a success, let see how many shaves I can get out of a single side of a DE blade in an injector. Typically an Astra will last me 4 shaves in a DE, if i can get more then two out of this side I will be pretty amazed. I finished off with a spritz of Florida Water and went to bed smelling great! I really really like Mountain Man! Have a great day everyone!

    P.S. Logan says hi!

    May 3, 2017- Tech Mini-Focus

    Razor: Post-War NDC Tech
    Blade: Dorco ST-301 (3)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

For today and tomorrow, I've moved on from the pre-War Tech to the post-War variant. This is an NDC US model from pre-1950 (I assume based on the fact that "package" is spelled out). I have a sentimental affinity for the pre-War version as my father's Tech was one of the first razors I used back in the 70's. That said, I'm finding that the post-War version is really growing on me. (The US one, anyway, as the British one is not to my taste.) I'm not sure if it is the more rigid blade handling, as some people say, but I find it an excellent pairing of mild and efficient.

Day 3 and the Dorco ST-301 is still going strong. I'm having trouble quantifying in, but the Dorco seems to have a different "feel" than my usual Russian steel; it's almost the feel I'd expect from a cartridge razor rather than a DE. It's possible, though, that I'm confusing sensations. I'm curious to see if this blade continues to hold up for a few more shaves as 3 seems to be the Rubicon that some blades can't cross.

Two passes to a DFS with no irritation or blood.

I would think the brush should be getting to you soon. If I recall mine was like 10-14 days total time including customs.
