oh, a pressed sample-I haven't yet reached that era of creativity in here. . And thanks for your comment on the scent iself, Andrew. Good enough for me!
My daughter selected Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo as the first new Stirling soap to try. Love the super menthol scent and feel. I do agree that the SDM scent is masked by the menthol but then again I barely noticed the scent of SDM in the SDM sample puck either. In all, great soap, awesome lather that was nice and slick and great post shave feel(nicely moisturized). I did get a whiff of SDM once it dried down a bit and in all, I love the resultant scent combination with the menthol.
The SDM scent is not quite as pronounced as the one I bought last year but I can still smell it. I have a sample puck also of the SDM soap and it's not that strong either but it's still there. The Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo I just received Monday hits you with the menthol right in your face as soon as you open the tub but then the SDM comes out - at least to me.
I would agree with this. Also, Jeff, thanks for your recommendations and comments on the Glacial line from Stirling. they all smell great and if they follow how awesome GET is, they will all be wonderful. I think I grabbed nearly all of the menthol and glacial offerings. Thanks Frank
I expect to get that menthol kick from the Sandpiper, but the scent is still there, as I sniff it.(Haven't yet tried it).
I have Sandpiper splash with menthol. The aftershaves where Rod adds menthol are very light in menthol amount. Don't expect a big kick. Expect perhaps a slight budge or brush instead. It's a small amount.
Today was shave #2 with Glacial Spearmint and splash. I've not experience the eye burning that I remember from the sample puck last year. That's good. It is amazing how cold that sensation is though. Coupled with cold water rinsing and it feels like the blade is frozen. The soap lathers extremely well and is very slick. The aroma is exactly as you'd imagine...just like a pack of Wrigley's. Another keeper. I'm a big fan and new menthol convert. To those who have the Lemon...what is the scent like? I imagine lemon Pledge, which is unappealing.
The Glacial Spearmint puck that I'm using now is so heavy on the freeze that it feels like you could get freezer-burn, yet it feels so good. I must admit that every time I use it my eyes start tearing a little, especially during the second pass. The scent literally fills my bathroom. About the Lemon Chill soap, same menthol freeze, same fabulous lather, and the scent is fresh, natural lemon - not artificial. It's a delight.
Well, my first time using the Sharp Dressed Man soap and I must say I love it. It lathers so fast, easily, rich, thick, and slick with perfect blade glide. I find the scent gorgeous also, but there's a bit of a difference between this one and the Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo besides one having menthol and one not having it. The two soaps indeed smell very similar, though.
I got great lather using the Synthetic "lil brudder" this morning....I think my TSD Lanolin soap is down to one more use, as the bottom of it shows up more and more now.
Rod and Amanda, Just tried Weekend In Malibu and I find it warm and inviting. I thoroughly enjoy the scent. As usual, the lather is outstanding - thick, cushiony and slick. Also, the wife shaved last night with Vanilla Bean Espresso and it was a rich strong scent of coffee beans and vanilla bean pods!! Great scent and nice and strong. Originally I grabbed it for her but I am looking forward to using it as well. Perfect scent to all fresh items. Gang, you should try these! Thanks for the awesome products.
Let me add one more thing. I recently was out cologne shopping with the wife (she picks my scents) and to me, Weekend In Malibu would pair nicely with Dior Sauvage. I do not know why but both cause an image in my mind of the color that is a rich blue when I smell Sauvage and Weekend In Malibu. Not sure what it is but both fire that image in my mind and I feel they should pair well What do you guys pair with Weekend In Malibu?
