Just watch out for any SE blades made in Korea. Apparently, PACE does OEM their not-suitable-for-shaving one.

Good morning friends! Last night I had my first MAYhem shave. My Schick E3 injector loaded with a modified Astra SP. The shave felt very injectoresq with a a few subtle differences. First of all the save was smooth and the blade cut well, no issues with tugging and it didn't feel harsh or more aggressive then with an injector blade. So what were the differences ? First of all the DE blade in the injector was very loud, easily twice as much audible feedback as with a Chick blade. Secondly the blade didn't feel as rigid. Even after three passes there was still sound of the blade scraping whiskers, I though for sure I wasn't going to end up with a very close shave. After the 3rd pass, when rinsing off my face I was surprised at how close the shave actually was, just as close as when using a Chick blade. Overall I'd call this experiment a success, let see how many shaves I can get out of a single side of a DE blade in an injector. Typically an Astra will last me 4 shaves in a DE, if i can get more then two out of this side I will be pretty amazed. I finished off with a spritz of Florida Water and went to bed smelling great! I really really like Mountain Man! Have a great day everyone!

Very interesting! How did you cut down the blade and how did you insert the blade?

    Thanks

I have been using Straights exclusively for the past 6 months. It feels really nice using my SE's again.

    Need to learn the Williams.

Great to see you with SE's. I add water slowly to Williams by just dipping the tips of the brush in water. Work up a kind of paste then keep adding water slowly.

The type F was perfect this morning and expect the same results with the type D tomorrow. My stranded island razors (one in each hand) would definately be the D and F.

After a smooth but not too close a finish with a PAL S/S Adj, I used my regular one and the difference was
was amazing, not only was it smoother but the quality of the finish was far superior. Odd how the same model of Razor can vary in performance.

That's an interesting observation. Maybe that's why some people love the PAL and other people dislike it. I must have gotten lucky with my PAL because I love it and get great shaves.

I used my ER '14 again today and it's shave 2 on the Gem Personna blade. It was another BBS and comfortable shave. Great razor!
