You actually inspired the category with that whole blade glued to a twig idea, Fuzzy. I am rooting for you to have a successful shave with it, as well as for other potential nominees half-baked ideas that are likely to come as a part of MAYhem! I'm looking forward to the point in this thread where we have multiple nominees in multiple categories!

Thanks to @jtspartan for his continued generosity to folks on this forum. Despite the Academy's pleas to for him to shrug off his generosity and just accept the stinkin' award, he is insistent on donating a Ball-end Gold Tech (NDC '46-'50) & 20 Voskhod blades to the cache of potential Shavy award prizes. As always, it's hard to outgive a good TSN forum brother!

 

I figure it would not be MAYhem without any blood. How about the best cut award. Pictures required.

I like the idea, as when I originally set up this thread, one of my proposed categories was "most blood drawn". In setting things up, very wise moderator advised me not to use categories that might encourage some bonehead to do something to draw blood thinking they will win a prize for it. I think the thread is pretty clear that this isn't going to happen here, but sometimes stupidity knows no bounds on the Internet. Like you, I still think there is opportunity for an award recognizing valiant Shave efforts that went awry, so let's go with Worst MAYhem Shave Results. Like you, the Academy recognizes the generally accepted principle of "without pictures it didn't happen" so, as with all awards here, nominations backed up by pictures are always given more weight. Thanks for revisiting the idea, and suggesting the category!

 

After deliberation, the Academy has made a few rule changes to improve and simplify things again.

First, the awards are now listed in order of importance as determined by Academy. As nominees and their acts of bravery, kindness, stupidity, etc. are evaluated for both their entertainment value and their contribution to shave community, the importance of each award may change throughout the month.

Well, I'm glad you asked. The Academy has determined that despite the fact that it may announce some Shavy winners throughout the month, no Shavy award prizes will be be handed out until the completion of MAYhem. Winners will be awarded their Shavys in the order the categories are listed. Therefore if somebody does something creative, funny, awesome, stupid, and successful, their nomination category may move closer to the top of the list, giving them first shot it what they want from the awards cache. Better for everyone, and keeps me from continually keeping track of PMs, awards, packages sent, etc. it also allows this all to happen on the main thread, along with anyone who wants to throw in dissenting awards without having to send PMs all over the place. If you didn't follow that, don't sweat it. The Academy has got this!
