May 2017 30 Day Rule/Focus Pix & Discussion

I drove one of those for a while around 1978. It took the 429 engine to push the two tons of car around. Easiest car I've ever been able to smoke the tires with. Mine was more of a piss yellowThanks for prompting the memories.

No wonder Aunt Martha kept acting like she couldn't hear us when we asked her where Uncle Ralph was last Thanksgiving.

 

I'm surprised she didn't say, " He's hanging around".

 

Turning around... brings back memories. On my driving test in the Olds 98, they took me down a narrow street and asked for a 3 point turn. I think I made a 9 point turn because there wasn't enough room.

They also asked me to parallel park behind a VW bug. When I was lining up, I had to put the car behind me in the blind spot and the tester complained saying I had to do it with the car immediately adjacent. I told them my car would already be half way passed the space!! I ended up doing a perfect park.

As big as that car was, I was able to see every corner of the car and could feel the size. I could drive that car with 3 inches of space and know I wasn't going to touch anything. Well there was that one time when I hit a car illegally parked at a corner. The Olds had heavy door handles that stuck out. Well, as I was 'passing' the parked car, I saw it shaking like crazy. Next thing I know someone yells that someone hit someone's car. The moldings on The Olds were clipped on and I heard it fall off. When I got out, I saw that the door handles on the passenger side had cut the sheet metal of that car in half. The only damage I sustained was the molding falling off and just clipped back on.

 

Ummmmm I glued a razor blade to a stick and just shaved.

Just figured I would toss you some of the usual questions seen when a new razor hits the scene

 

Well I think the great flood of 2017 is about done with us. Missouri River crests in about 2 hours and should be just shy of over-topping the levee. Although further downstream they are still evacuating as there is a levy there that looks bad. For me and mine, though, we made it without any water in the house. Our street is still closed due to the storm drains still being closed but nothing worse than a very soaking wet lawn and an extra few steps to get to the car where it's parked. I'm headed out for the next couple of hours to give a buddy a hand. He took some water down by the Meramec and is trying to finish pulling carpets and all that tonight so I'm going to spend a couple of late night hours helping him out. I'll be back tomorrow (pardon the tremendous irony here) if the creek don't rise! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

I get a kick out of some folks questions and such on razors....it's just shaving people!!!

One pass stivette shaves are for little girls.... Or smart people..

Thanks. This was a raffle win. Only paid $16 if you don't count all the raffle tickets I bought for ones I didn't win. When I got it, the heal had chips in it for about a half inch of the edge. Made a claim to USPS because it was insured, and actually got paid. Glen repaired it so you can hardly tell it was repaired, and put an awesome edge on it.

Work travel today and tomorrow. Have my usual travel set up of brush and razor. Brought the Gentleman this time. I love it, my wife does not. It made sense to take it out of town...
One more shave for work in the morning, and then I'll let the whiskers grow for 36 hours or so before I slice myself open with a Sayuri saturday night...then onto my actual Injector focus on Monday.
