Frank, I never really noticed that with my menthol soaps. Maybe it's just me but I can't really tell. Certain ones like the Glacials feel equally-cold no matter how well-hydrated or not the lather is whereas some others, like the regular MITA, Frozen Tundra, and Black Ice feel considerably milder because they're in a different menthol level. BTW, I'm planning to try the Gin & Tonic On the Rocks this summer and the Grapefruit Menthol. Talking about Grapefruit Menthol I have one from OSP so Rod's version sounds very tempting and this way I'd be able to compare the two.
Tomorrow I'll give my Stirlings a day off and go back to them on Menthol Monday. I think my choice will be Glacial Wintergreen.
I will say that I wish Eskimo Tuxedo expressed the SDM scent like the rest of the menthol line. To me, even the regular soap needs to be kicked up a notch. Other than ET, every menthol Stirling makes had been absolutely great! Even the Glacial soaps have great scents
I did notice that the new Eskimo Tuxedo soap has a little less of the SDM scent than the ones I bought last year but I can still smell enough of it.
lollllllll I have literally FIVE HUNDRED+ creams, soaps, etc sitting around the house. Once in a while I have to pay them some attention!
I am thinking about putting my Eskimo Tuxedo on the trade block. Love the feel, but the scent does not work for me. Which Glacials have a stronger scent? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
You get a hell of a strong black licorice scent from the Obsidian and the Wintergreen and Spearmint are also very strongly-scented. The menthol still creeps in but the scents are very much there. The Lemon Chill also smells very lemony although I must say that the menthol accompanies it. I don't care because these soaps still smell enough like they're supposed to - at least to me.
The Barbershop soap delivered beautifully for me on everything - scent, lather, and skincare. What more could I have asked? It was such an enjoyable shave.
I'm thinking of using Glacial Lemon Chill for tomorrow's shave. Little nervous because I haven't tried a glacial yet. But I think I can handle it!
