May 7 (Sunday) - just shaving
Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / PAL Gold Thin Hollow Ground carbon ( 4)
    1980s nameless drugstore boar brush
    Cella
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original Astringent

I used the last few sad remnant scraps from my red tub of Cella today, smearing them in the bottom of my lather bowl to be picked up by the brush. Have I used up the rest of the Cella? Uhm, no, not really. It fell victim to May's Spirit of Scientific Inquiry a couple nights ago and joined the Vitos Red, Vitos Green, Valobra Almond and 3P Almond in the big tub of Italian soft almond frankensoap now known as the Red Green Duct Tape Special.

My faithful old drugstore plastic-handled boar brush whipped up an excellent creamy lather. and it felt very soft while face lathering. However, I noticed afterwards that it really hadn't done a good job of cleaning the soap off the bottom of the lather bowl. Could it be possible that my 35-year-old boar brush is starting to wear out?

Other than that, a good shave. The PAL blade is feeling smoother. I would call the result a BBS.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Great line up to start the week. Route 66 High Mountain Mist is an uplifting, herbal aroma of spearmint and eucalyptus topped with light notes of bright citrus, softened with hints of woods and sage. Long lasting, slick lather with protective cushion and glide along with soothing post shave conditioning makes this a great shave soap.

No shave for me today. I usually take a day off on the weekends and today was the day. I cut the grass, did some weed-eating, etc. Now it's time to read a little bit.

But, I wanted to follow up on yesterday's shave with the shimmed GEM 1912. That is possibly one of the smoothest shaves I've had in quite some time. It felt smoother a couple of more after than right when I was finished. That happens to me a good bit for some reason. I'm going to use the same setup tomorrow with the shimmed GEM blade in the 1912 along with Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill. Should be a nice wake-me-up combination.

I'm following the Mayhem stuff closely. Some of you are flat out crazy......

The shave with a shimmed Gem was so close and smooth today, that I broke down and ordered some blades. If they work this well, I have to get them into rotation more often.

    23mm AOS Pure Badger
    Stirling South Padre

    Alum/Thayers/Nivea

Today was my first try of Stirling South Padre. They describe it as
. Me, I would describe it like the scent of warm butterscotch syrup on French Vanilla ice cream and a touch of warm floral scent. Loved it. Lather was super shiny and slick. I am probably way off base with describing the scent. For me, visits to Jones Beach has flowers along the main entrance and adjacent to the beach, an ice cream shop. I am probably mixing all this in my mind as how I see the scents. Either way, I find it an enjoyable scent.

Ladas SS was quieter in cutting than the previous blade and was much better XTG and ATG. It was not the best but much better than many that have a hard time cutting my hair. 3.5 passes for a great BBS shave.

YSL L'Homme cologne to finish. So far I love all the Stirling seasonal releases.

That's very kind of you Adam. What do you like best about the picture? Maybe I can work on it. At one time the building you see made blue jeans and employed many people in our area. They where great jeans also. If you had a problem with a pair you could bring them to the factory and they would replace them. no questions asked.

I'm reluctant to ask, but what happened to Shavette Fu? Did the shavettes, straights, and mayhem stunts scare him off?

Good question. I guess we'll have to wait and see. :)
