Glad you are enjoying the shaves. At least the shaves are good while you are waiting for the big day!!

May 8 - Chill out! OOH Minty!

    Ladas SS (Day 2)
    French Vanilla (JR #72)
    DIY PSO
    Stirling Glacial Spearmint
    alum/Thayers/Nivea

Being Menthol Monday, I chose another new to me Stirling soap, Glacial Spearmint. Great slick lather and awesome chill. This reminded me of the B&M Arctique that I got form the Soap Passaround Box II. Arctique is a Peppermint scent. Without them side by side, it is hard to tell which is colder or had the better scent. I have a hard time discerning peppermint, spearmint and wintergreen. I have never liked chewing gum and so my exposure to mint flavors has been limited. They are all just minty to me :). I found them both deliciously frozen. The Spearmint was simple in scent. I think Arctique had a little more going on with the scent with some background smells of pepper and leather. Even so, I like both of them. Since I ran out of cobalt containers, I have this soap in a sandwich baggie (for now) and I grabbed a little less than ademitasse spoon's worth for today's shave. Ended up with enough for 6 passes. For the frugal, this soap can last!

Ladas SS kinda let me down. I got a DFS+ but the blade was not cutting as easily on the XTG and ATG. I find I need a super sharp glade for those to go well. The blade still was smooth WTG and rather silent. The shave from yesterday still felt rather close, especially since it was a 1PM shave instead of the usual 6:30 AM.

Quality performance this morning with my Stirling Barbershop soap/Clubman A.S. combo. I need to spend a little more time shaking off the hot tap water from the brush before I begin. But otherwise, face&neck feel gooood. Speaking of my neck, the brush&Stirling soap helped knock off what can be best be described as a beehive from the area just below my jawbone.

Clubman makes everything better. I think I might need to try some of the Stirling Barbershop soon.

As you may recall, I had the S. Barbershop aftershave, but at the wrong time of year(for me)...I think it's best in the colder months...same way I feel about Clubman. As for the soap(Stirling Barbershop), I feel that, too, is more of a fall/winter thing.

I have never divided things up into seasonal like that. I guess not that organized. Then again I make stew and gumbo in the hear of the summer too.....
