I know it's early to post for Tuesday but I'm going to the dentist for a check-up so here's my shaving plan:

I still have enough soap in my older container to keep on going - it's unbelievable how long Rod's soaps last. This Glacial Lemon Chill is absolutely brilliant. Its scent is pure and natural, its lather is so much fun to work up, and like all the Glacial soaps its menthol effect hits you like a ton of icy bricks. The matching witch hazel also has a boatload of menthol freeze and it's so soothing - top stuff!

I'm not sure. I haven't tried the "new spice" stuff. I know that the P&G definitely has a "bite" to the opening floral and the Original Shulton cologne I have doesn't have that acidic/artificial "punch". I'm not sure if that is because the age of the Shulton cologne has "dulled" the opening "bite" or lost some of the floral, but it's pretty clear that the opening of the P&G and Shulton colognes are very different to my nose. The final dry downs are highly similar, but the Original Shulton is still a tad more 'mellow' and reserved. Again, that could be the age of the cologne at play, so it's really difficult for me to know for sure because I have no idea how the items I've bought were preserved. It's becoming very difficult to obtain any sealed, genuine vintage Shulton cologne. I have better luck with the aftershave as it was more popular and many old-timers treated their bottles like gold after Shulton sold the company to Proctor & Gamble. The cologne.....not so well preserved or cared about. I've purchased 4 different bottles of Shulton-era cologne and only one of them seems to be acceptable to my nose and even still, it seems to be very weak on that opening floral. I wish ebay sellers would document the method of storage the colognes had. If they were in sealed containers in a temperature-controlled environment, then they should still be as good as the era they were made.

Sometimes I find that others around me can smell my aftershaves long after I become desensitized to them. Vibr is normally a long lasting one. Just an observation.

Last night I put the "Soap Destroyer" to work on on my VdH bowl filled with grated La Toja. I really want to finish up this soap so that I can use the bowl to hold some samples, so I think I will use this soap every other shave until its gone. The Ch2 whipped up a fantastic later, enough for 10 passes fully loaded! The lather was great but the shave was a little rough as the Astra didn't have enough "cow bell" left in it. I finished up with some of my homemade lime AS, got a little burn from the alcohol, and a spot of Nivea ASB. Have a great day my friends!

 

Very nice setup Dave! Thanks for bringing Tampa Shave Company to our attention, this is the first I have heard of this company, sounds like a interesting scent.
