He hasn't posted since Thursday, and that was about the flooding in his area. I'm hoping everything is okay.

Have to scroll back a page or three, I believe Brian @mrchick had made contact with Neal. IIRC he was ailing with the itis. May have been related to helping his friend during a flooding emergency.

 

Cool. I am sure he's getting medical help and will get back soon.

I use that AS. I like the scent. Williams Wednesday is just around the corner.

I am wondering if I made a shorter version of the stivette and taped that to my finger if that would be considered a finger razor. Or do the rules stipulate the blade must be taped to the finger.....hummmmmm.

My Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations Cedar and Saffron soap came in today, so I had to shave with it. As with most of her soaps I have tried, the scent was not what I expected but I really like it. I'm at a loss as to how to explain it but it is warm and pleasant. The real joy is the lather and the post shave feel. If I had Lisa's, Route 66, Stirling and Tabac I could be a happy camper forever. I pulled out the GEM Micromatic and the Omega boar brush and landed a spanking good shave. Topped it off with Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essenziale Blu Aftershave Lotion and I'm a happy guy.

Oh I am familiar with the movie...I just always go for the badlands of New Mexico when I leave El Paso. Tell Carol to get cooking on some meat and taters too.

May 9 (Tuesday) - Frankensoap and PAL focus

Red Green Duct Tape Special soap
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent Aftershave

Although I usually bowl lather, I decided to try face lathering the frankensoap today using my badger brush. Both came through magnificently. A quick twirl of the damp badger brush in the repurposed TOBS cream tub had a full load of frankensoap. I added just a few drops of water to the Envy White, and it then gave me Arko-like lather on my face. There was enough in the brush for three full passes and touch ups with another palmful of lather squeezed out during cleanup.

I expect I will always be a bowl latherer at heart, but it's good to know both the Red Green Duct Tape Special and the Envy White badger brush can deliver a great face lather for me if I want it.

To prove yesterday wasn't a fluke, I again abandoned my usual crisscross diagonal passes in favour of a more traditional three-pass WTG, XTG, and ATG plus touchup buffing. Once again, I avoided any nicks or weepers even when performing my former bane, the ATG pass on chin and upper lip. And once again, the baby showed up. However, also once again, Mr. Alum spoke out more strongly than he normally does, after which the alcoholic aftershave variant of the Thayers Witch Hazel provided a pretty good burn before settling down to soothe.

Two full court shaves in a row is clearly at least one too many. Now that I know for sure I can get a true BBS whenever I really need it by using this method, I will go back to getting sufficiently good but less irritating DFS using my normal process.

For me I have found the new formula for Mystic Water is easier to load and lather. I never had much success with this brush when using the old formula. Now I get to enjoy the soft pampering scrub and Mystic Water at the same time. This brush is much more economical on the soap than the D01 2 Band Flat Top I used last week. A smooth drama free 3 pass shave this morning is a great start to the day. A splash of Fine Lavender and I am to fight the commute. Today is my first trip into the city since the crack head burned down the interstate. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
