    May 9 SOTD:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Wholly Kaw Jamestown Gentleman SS
    Schick Type G3
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Wholly Kaw Jamestown Gentleman AS

It was definitely a quick shave this morning, but the G3 gave me a DFS. I had to get on the road to catch a plane, as I am on travel the next few days. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM 1912
    Brush: Omega Hi synthetic
    Lather: Proraso Green
Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Nice and easy shave this morning. The 1912 is smooth and efficient. This is a smaller tub of Proraso and is nearing its end. It is morphed into a soft croap at this point. I think I'll shave with it every other shave until I finish it up. Good results in the end.

    Have a great day!

  5. Great picture and a great lineup for a quick efficient shave. Safe travels. :)
  6. Great picture and lineup Perry. :happy088: The 1912 is really a great little razor.
  7. Perfect!!!
  8. For performance I prefer Castle Forbes, it is as good as it gets for me. I do like MdC and will replace it, the scents are awesome. I add a little liquid lanolin to MdC that helps the performance and after shave dryness.MdC is a top tier soap for me but for straights my favorites are AoS tallow, Route 66 and Castle Forbes because they make a very wet and slick lather.

  9. That is a better thought than No Country For Old Men.
  10. Oh yeah that's more than crazy enough to qualify.

  14. May 9 - L.I. Man meets Island Man

    Merkur 34C
    Sputnik
    The Phoenix brush
    DIY PSO
    Stirling Island Man
    Alum/Thayers/Nivea

Decided the shave yesterday with the Ladas SS was a little rough on the XTG anfd ATG passes and decided to retire the blade. Sputnik was selected next.

Island Man is another winner for me. Lather , as always, is a great. the scent is definitely a warm, tropical scent that I really like. Stirling calls it
    . An excellent scent.

Did 4.5 passes with Sputnik. I did 2 XTG passes because I just felt that too much hair remained and felt an extra pass was needed. I am not sure if the shave yesterday left too much behind or what. The ATG was better. Alum did sting a bit but faded quickly. BBS achieved.

  15. 9 May 2017 GEM Blade/Soap Focus Shave
The Getaway(1972) is one of my favorite movies.
Today's shave brings out the big Omega Boar. Felt like some Bay Rum this morning, so I broke out the Route 66 "Rum Runner"(ya can't go wrong with the Mother Road!).
Slick great smelling lather with the 10098.
The GEM Featherweight/Treet has really hit its stride. 2.5 passes no need for touching up. Some Clubman VIBR and we're off and running.
    Enjoy the gunfight.
  16. Thanks, Jim!
  17. Safe travels, Jim! And amazing G3! you don't see those very often!
  18. Thank you, Andrew! I got it in a trade, and is it ever a great shaver. Have a great day!
  19. another great shave with Stirling Barbershop soap. I appeared to spend more time scraping extra soap off the side of the jar than loading from the inside. Perhaps that shows the power of the Jayaruh brush(well, all of them I'd presume).
