No wait.... that's not what I meant.
    Neal has returned!
Glad you're home. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Glad you've returned to us Neal. With you heavily medicated, and @Bama Samurai traveling, my evening shaves haven't been the same. Actually the shaves have been just fine, but without our Czar & Samurai keeping an eye on the group we've been entertaining ourselves.
Take your time catching up on old posts, and relax knowing we kept the ship afloat while you were out.

This statement should strike fear into Neal's heart.

It's great to have you back. You were missed! Nothing happened, other than a few of us idiots doing silly things that caused some bleeding. (My wife wanted to post some pictures of my idiocy but I convinced her that isn't done)
    Have fun Neal!

Dipped back into the Soap Pass-around samples. If I didn't already try a CF soap, this one is on the 10/10 list. After splashing cool water on my face I rubbed the pea sized bit of soft soap around. Applying slightly moist brush, I almost grabbed more soap. That would have been a mistake. Lather appeared, grew, had to be off loaded from my face to a bowl. Moistened the brush again and it doubled in volume. This stuff likes water! I like a soap that is tolerant of hydration. Slick, great residual glide, and it's Barber Shop scented. The Med Prep blade got to make three passes, lots of slides, & extra chin time. And I still had lather left over. Cool water rinse and alum was just barely sparkling with no hot spots. Slapped a goodly dose of AS over a DFS+ and all's close enough to right in my world.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

I glued a blade into that little butter knife Sayuri too. I guess I like glueing razor blades to things.

Welcome back Neal. My Mom use to have pancreas attacks that put her in the hospital. Glad your back out this side of it!!

Glad you're back in the land of the living, Neal @NCoxSTL. Hope you stay out of hospital for a good long while this time! You have my prayers to that effect, for whatever they are worth.

In other news, the above posts by @jtspartan, @SharptoothC and @wchnu give a solid Reader's Digest Condensed Version of the last 58 pages. The only person who has ended up at a hospital so far this month is you (though I think @mrchick and in particular @Drygulch made pretty good runs at needing ER outpatient treatment...)

@NCoxSTL, it's good to see you up and around again.

I've got nothing to add except that my own humble attempt at MAYhem (a Chinese-made, no-name, Gem-style blade from the local beauty supply store) was a complete bust. Apparently, the oppressed, suicidal worker who made it didn't even bother with honing. As a result, the shave was incredibly smooth and produced zero reduction. We may need a new spot on the badness scale to cover it.

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM 1912
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Soap Commander Passion
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Mountain Man aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Everything started off great with superb lather. But I ended up with some irritation and redness on my neck, which is unusual. Could be the morning fog of tiredness perhaps. Nevertheless, I needed some balm to calm things down some. Oh well. This is a rarity for me so I won't get caught up on it.

Maybe using an SE razor on a daily basis isn't good for my face. The shaves have been great with the 1912 but I've felt a twinge of overdoing it each day. Only one pass with touch-up each day, but I think I gravitated to injectors due to the overall mild nature that gets close results. Something to ponder..... I'll switch back to an injector for tomorrow's redemption shave.

    Enjoy the day!

    Aftershave: B&M Cologne Russe

Another home run from B&M, I love the scent from this soap and AS; more floral than I typically use but a clean scent with a masculine background. It was a pleasant change of pace for me. The performance is typical B&M greatness. First pass with the Supply and just one with the Chimera today and I'm left with a DFS. My first attempt with the Chimera going ATG and it worked beautifully. Zero feedback from the alum and a hearty splash of B&M and I'm ready for the day. Have a great day folks!

    Glad you're better brother Neal.
You should name that little sucker at the end of your pancreas so he can be properly excoriated!
