Shaved with Brass General with Feather Pro [ 6 ].
Good to mix Modern SE /Vintage shaves. Whilst todays shave with the General was smoother, apart from in the upper lip the finished quality of shave was not really any better than the Shave of yesterday with the ER 1914.

  3. I actually tried to move the blade back, but it is as far back as it will go. The "stops" seem to be under the blade. I decided to try it out today with trepidation, but I got good results. I had almost completed my first pass with the Gillette Super 84, when I decided to see how the Schick would do. I did my left cheek, and did fine. So, I lathered up and did the second pass with the Schick. No problemo. It did a fine job. I am planning on doing the same tomorrow.

    Schick E2
    Ted Pella Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS

The Soap Commander Renewal Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Made-Rite 12 Boar brush. I did two passes; one with the Gillette Super 84 razor and Kai Stainless blade and one with my new to me Schick E2 razor with a Ted Pella injector blade. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM 1912
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Soap Commander Passion
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Mountain Man aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Little bit of a rough shave today. Some redness and irritation on my neck. Not sure why, but I wonder if my face doesn't like consecutive or daily SE shaves. I'll have to do some experimenting with that. Tremendous lather from Soap Commander and an overall good shave despite the redness.

    Have a great day!

  5. Razor: Portland Razor Co Chimera / Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Strop: Drygulch 45
Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom
    Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo
    Soap: B&M Cologne Russe
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Alum
    Osage Rub
    Aftershave: B&M Cologne Russe

Another home run from B&M, I love the scent from this soap and AS; more floral than I typically use but a clean scent with a masculine background. It was a pleasant change of pace for me. The performance is typical B&M greatness. First pass with the Supply and just one with the Chimera today and I'm left with a DFS. My first attempt with the Chimera going ATG and it worked beautifully. Zero feedback from the alum and a hearty splash of B&M and I'm ready for the day. Have a great day folks!

  6. Beautiful inaugural shave with the new TW B-400/Tuxedo. The LA Shaving Soap Bay Rum performed well but apparently I'm not a Bay Rum fan. The Schick A/Plus Platinum always works.[IMG]

  7. I went on Amazon yesterday and ordered a tuck each of PAL and GEM Blue Stars. Gonna do a proper blade audition for the Featherweight. The Treet's are in the lead so far, subject to change.

Last night I decided to move my MAYhem shaves to the Shovelhead. I trimmed the tabs on a Dorco Prime Platinum DE blade and carefully slid it down against the stops. I had a fear that the blade would slip while shaving, but whats the worst that could happen ? Fortunately the blade was held firmly when the door is closed and no slipage occurred. There was however a lot of chatter from the blade while shaving. Luckily I had the super protective Route 66 lather going for me, I kept to no pressure and stayed on the cap and ended with a very nice close shave. Not as close as with a GEM blade, but there was no blood or irritation, so I'll happily take it! Have a great day my friend!

  13. That is an awesome set up. I have several bottles of the Brut Evolution still in the box. That 1912 is incredable looking there.

  14. Funny. i am becoming s carbon guy, for de i get great shaves ftom the treet black beauty. on se gem blades i found the carbon 009 type blades to be sharper and cut my whiskers deeper.

  15. I am a solid carbon guy on SE have not tied the DE. I just find them smoother. I prefer the PAL for some reason, I got birdlives hooked on them.

  16. Thanks Fuzzy, i am new to brut blue and man it is a great ocean scent! also the deodorant was at dollar tree for a buck! i got 4 of them .. the oceans after shave was a uk import , little pricey but so worth it... the caties soap matched the brut ocean perfect... the 1912 was a Virgin razor until 3 days ago. i am amazed by the gem se shave!! I got a feather, micromatic, e.r. 1925, clog pruf, and bullet tip at home. .. its gonna be a se month!

  17. I find that most who try the SE fall in love with them. My first was the OCMM it quickly ran rampant from there.

Is that the razor that would not close tight?
