I am working on making a working flashlight brush - not handle - (didn't know there were other nut jobs out there working on these types of ideas, but I should have guessed). Don't know if the brush will be finished and operational before June, but I might be able to but I felt pretty good about the "closed eye" passes so far, so if I complete it in time, I will report back results from my blackened bathroom.

Another Shavy Nomination for @wchnu is Forthcoming. @Drygulch is getting a run for his money, and may need to find a taller cliff with a smaller body of water underneath it in order to do increase the degree of difficulty on his next triple lindy!

I feel like the key for me was the Synthetic brush. My other attempts were boar.

My method is face lathered. I load it heavy into the Plisson like @Keithmax and add water to the knot. The lather may collapse a bit, but it hasn't been an issue for me. It's very slick.

Yes, it's certainly very slick. No denying that. I'll give it another try soon.

You Sir, are a hero! I will be making another attempt at a razor taped to a finger this month. Now I just need to decide if I should go for thumb or forefinger.

Thank you for that tidbit of info. I knew there was a dividing line, but couldn't recall where.

@Paul Turner , are you catching this? Necessity is the Mother of your Shave Hardware Upgrade.

I have a technical question, but first a story: My face was so torn up from my last shavette shave that I haven't shaved in several days. So when my new Gem G-bar got here today, I decided to use it in part because I wanted to try it out and in part because I have to cleanup for work and my face is still too torn up for a shavette. (I have always heard good things about a g-bar and I am only 1 shave in, but they all seem to be true.) As to the magnitude of the shavette carnage- When I was 5 years old I got on a skateboard for the first time( not one of these new fancy ones, the short narrow 1970's version) and proceeded to take off down a very steep side walk. At a pretty good speed I flew off the front of it and slid along the sidewalk on my face. I looked like I had been mauled by a bear . Now I'm not saying I look that bad now, but when I looked in the mirror a couple of days ago I was reminded of the story.
In fairness, I got into something clearing out brush that I think got in the cuts and made it much worse than it would have been. This concludes story time.

Question: When I tried to upload pictures of what I used to shave 2 different times, I got a message saying the file was too large. I'm taking the pics on an IPad. I didn't see a way to decrease the resolution. What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance!

There is a one megabyte file limit for uploaded content. If you change the file format to GIF (only 256 colors), or reduce the overall size, or upload to an off site file hosting service the issue will resolve.
I've found the Tapatalk app "fixes" file size problems automatically.

If using an iPad, you have a few options in addition to RyX's good points. You can edit the photo in your photo library and 'crop' is smaller, which will cut down on the size without affecting the resolution. Also, you can email it to yourself, and if using a major email service like outlook, it will allow you to curtail the size of the image.

I use an iPhone. The easiest way I have found to get the pics below the 1mb size limit is to open the picture, and take a screenshot. (Single button on the side and the button on the bottom of the screen at the same time.) Then open that screenshot, and crop it down. Always makes it below 1mb.

I went with thumb so that I could get a few better angles maybe. I do not have what it takes to try a blade directly on the finger. I will leave that one to y'all.
I think in the settings you can adjust the size of the pic too,. That is what I had to do with my Galaxy. All the other ideals are good ones too.

Thanks guys. I've been doing the email it to yourself and saving it back to the pictures file on my iphone. Total pain in the rear and takes forever. I'll have to try some easier methods mentioned here. Tapatalk seems easy, but I find it a pain to use and doubles my time and effort on a number of things. Maybe I should try it again.

I love how both your brush and razor have a clean machined quality. It is built for a purpose with exactness. Nice tools. How do you find the lather of AdP?

First use of Kiss My Face cream. Had a difficulty getting the pump top to function so I unscrewed the top and wiped the moistened brush across the dip tube. Into the suribachi and several additions of cool water later had plenty of lather. The cream seems thirsty & that's a good thing. Means more shaves per ounce. Scent is light, but very slick with great residual glide. The unmeasured amount of soap made more than plenty lather for 3 passes, S-Slides, and chin buffing. No negative skin effects testing a new product, but I'm very tolerant to every ingredient so far. Brush and bowl rinsed clean, but I noticed a bit of residue under the razor head. Being a cool water shave it may have washed away with warm. Achieved a smooth DFS with no errors and light sparkle from the alum. Double splash of Osage Rub but no other AS so I can evaluate the later effects of this new-to-me cream.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
