So some bright spark in the early 1900s decided to mix water and electricity ... what a shockingly good idea...
Not a thing wrong with that. Speaking of shave sticks,. I remember several years ago someone talking about making a shave stick from a chapstik size tube.., has anyone seen this done? I am thinking of melting a cake of VDH glycern to refresh my travel shave stick and using a bit to try that out.
I guess @Shave Fu needs some type of award for being the quickest member to earn a CT and then vanishing. Is there a Shavy for that?
May 11 - New Razor Day!!!! Rockwell 6C(R3) Rockwell SS blade (day 1) The Phoenix brush DIY PSO Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Alum/ Thayers/Nivea Another two new items today - Glacial Wintergreen and Rockwell 6C. I used the R3 base plate and their own blades. They included 100 Rockwell blades and a blade bank for free with my 'support' of the project. Wintergreen is nice and cold. I agree that there is a difference between Wintergreen and Spearmint. I think I prefer Spearmint more. Both are good. I also think I prefer the Peppermint version of B&M Arctic even more. All three created perfect slick and cushiony lather. Rockwell SS blades were OK. I would put them as pretty smooth and a little less sharp than Astra SP. In all, I got a BBS shave after 4.5 passes , replicating the XTG pass. I did this becaus eI felt that there was just too much hair still. Not sure if yesterday's shave was as good as I thought. I feel today's was closer. The Rockwell 6C feels like it is twice the weigh of the Merkur 34C. It is almost too heavy to me but easy to use. I did get 3 weepers but they closed quickly. In all, all of the products I used were very good. Will look forward to using a different blade in the 6C and trying out another run at Wintergreen.
I like to overload my brush with ADP. If worked correctly ADP lather is thick and luxurious. One the most fragrant soaps (IMO) out there.

Beautiful picture, Doug. I worried a bit when you said you 'drowned the soap' and then showed a pic of it beside the raging river
