Todays shave indicates truly that one has to use the right blade in a Razor. Yesterday using the General with a Pro blade on its 6th use, I had a smooth enough shave but the finish quality was poor.Whereas today was not only smooth, quick and ultra close all round. Seems to indicate that for me the Schick Blade is better choice, as I have used it in the Alu General, and had 10 good shaves.

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: JR #142 black badger
    Lather: Proraso Green
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Piacenza aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Mild yet efficient L1 today. Smooth and enjoyable shave. My face needed a little break from the 1912 and the L1 was a great respite provider. Not much more to report other than using JR #142 for the first time with great success. Really enjoy my injectors and SE razors.

    Have a great day!

I blew up Williams Wednesday by sitting down in my chair after not getting much sleep yesterday, I woke up and it was Thursday. I did the first past of my morning shave with a DE glued to a stick taped to a thumb. The second pass was with a G and ASR blade. Used Derby Menthol cream and the JR #137. Very good lather for the MAY-hem shave.

My Nordic Beauty has been on my mind for months. Not only that but @twhite did up a nice wedge blade for me months before that. They have been calling to me and today I couldn't resist any longer. This was easily the smoothest shave I remember ever getting from this classic razor. Having shaved almost exclusively with straights for almost a year now has undoubtedly improved my technique. That and a well honed blade provided an outstanding shave. :happy036:

    Supply SE Take 2

As I mentioned in my first report, I thought this razor was very efficient. especially on the first pass. I was getting decent reduction on the first pass, but had some problem areas preventing me from getting the quality of shave I was used to from my DE. I thought becoming more familiar with the Supply would get me where I wanted. Well, after several weeks of using the razor exclusively, it hasn't gotten much better.

Since I do not have extensive experience with SE razors, I thought it would be interesting to try another razor -- a classic Schick. I purchased an I1 from the bay and completed a couple of shaves. So far I've gotten better shaves with two passes and touch-up with the Schick than I have with the Supply (using the same brand blade).

While the Supply SE is a beautiful, well balanced, finely crafted razor, I get a better overall shave with the Schick I1. I'm sure it's a YMMV thing, with dependencies such as beard type.

    Anyone else experience similar results?

Cool - I've never seen a featherweight with anything other than a white/cream colored handle before. :happy088:

I am with you on this one. On a 3* plate I can with a lot of effort get an OK, but not really good shave. Like you
I have got better/easier Shaves with other vintage injectors.

What a difference a fresh blade makes. Will be interested to see how the Schick performs, after the Pro failed me
    after 6 outings.
