Today I used Glacial Wintergreen soap. Yeah, I can smell a difference from Spearmint. It was a great cold feeling. I think I am slightly more partial to the Spearmint than the Wintergreen but I do love both of them. the extreme chill lasted a full hour and even now, 2.5 hours later, I can still feel a chill at times on my cheeks. Another menthol tomorrow but not sure if I want Orange Chill, Lemon, Obsidian or Frozen Tundra yet.

It isn't hot enough here yet for me to apply the cold aftershaves. We've had a FEW hot days, but no consistency. It'll happen.

    Paul,
Today on L.I. it is only reaching a high of 62F. I just don't care and the cold feeling seems to also help reduce my irritation as well.

If I have to, I'll just raise the temp in the bathroom with the heater or use hotter water in the shower :).

I gotta backtrack. I knew I'd get them mixed up. South Padre has citronella in it I believe. Normally, I hate that smell but man does it ever work in that soap. South Padre is an excellent scent.

However, Island Man is my favorite. It's the blue soap. I just finished my 1st shave with it for the summer. It smells so good, I don't want anyone around. I want it all for myself. It's that good.

I loaded a fresh Astra in my Gillette Super 109, handsomely plated by RE, and went to work on many days growth. It's been a while since I used the Black Beauty. Set on 9 it made quick work of the forest. I forgot how much I enjoy that thing.

    Carry on.

You know what - for tomorrow it'll be either Electric Sheep or Frozen Tundra. Both smell so nice and the FT is a menthol delight.

well, I could TRY something cold on cold days-I think I'd be more comfortable with that than with something warm on warm/hot days.

Up tomorrow, Glacial Lemon Chill and a hot shower. It is only supposed to reach 57F tomorrow with wake up temps in the 40's.

    It's going to be delicious!

Thanks! I don't know that we've had too many folks try that one and not like it.

I still am planning to do it. I just haven't had the time to work on it yet. We're about to head to the Maggard Meetup, so when we get back on Tuesday it will be on my list of projects for the week. I still need to have Mandy finish the label design though. I definitely want it to have the artwork.

Just a little message to Rod - I'm showing some loving interest in one of his treasures. I also coach him with his Arabic - he speaks it now really good! ;)

I have been trying to narrow down my aftershaves, but I think I've gotta have that one. If nothing else,I will just use too much and bask in my own scent

My shipment came in today. Eskimo Tuxedo, I gotta say, smell very little like SDM. SDM will fill the room. ET is super, super muted. I'll reserve final judgement until I try it.

The Sunflower Fields, I think, is definitely a feminine scent. The ladies of the house seem to dig it.

    Blu is just awesome.

I can't wait to work thru the new stuff.

And EZ must pay more attention that I think. I got a sample of Lemon Chill. It's definitely not Lemon pledge...I think I love it.

    More to come.

    SharptoothC I bite..........

So after using my Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo, I have pretty much decided I want something Mentholated. I really like the feel of the Glacial ET but not so much the scent. Not bad, mind you, and it will see use, but more for feel than anything. I also like my Iced Pineapple, but I don't want anything less Mentholated than that. So can y'all tell me where Frozen Tundra, Grapefruit with Menthol, and MITA fall on the chill scale? Also considering the Glacial Lemon, but it is the only Glacial scent that really appeals to me. I don't want minty. I wish I could get Island Man with menthol.

Glacial Lemon Chill was awesome this morning. Nice strong lemon scent and excellent freeze. I love that I got extreme menthol and extreme scent. I wish Eskimo Tuxedo was like this. My sample of SDM also was more muted than than what others reported so I wonder if the concentration of scent oils has been reduced recently. Eskimo Tux was also rather muted and all I get is menthol scent. To me, they could double it and it would be a good start on both. But I will say I do like the scent. Just wish either I had a nose for it or it was much, much stronger. If they could equal the strength of say Executive Man, Dunshire, or , for the menthol version, Iced Pineapple, MITA, G&TR, or Lemon Chill, Wintergreen, or Spearmint, I would be much happier. ET is maybe a notch above unscented. Sorry for being brutally honest. ET, Black Ice, Frozen Tundra and Glacial Obsidian are the only non citrus menthols in the lineup. I would love more non citrus scents. I love all of the citrus menthol scents so far. I am a happy camper in that regard. Might be cool(no pun intended) to have some of the other summer scents also offered in menthol like Island Man, or South Padre or expand on the cologne matching ones to also offer them in menthol like Dunshire, Piacenza, Blu, Noir, etc. Baker Street menthol might be cool as well.

As for the menthol strength, they list the /10 for each on their scent description page:
    https://www.stirlingsoap.com/product-scent-descriptions/

They are as follows (copied from the website):

Black Ice - Our wildly-popular Anise soap is now available with over 2% menthol crystals to add some shiver to what is already one of the best shaves on the market at any price. Slap this on your face and prepare to slide. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 3.1/10 - Availability: Fall/Winter)

Frozen Tundra - What's that? You didn't make it to the NFL and you'll never know the feeling of having your face mashed into the ground at Lambeau Field while scoring a touchdown in December? We'd be happy to help you out with that. A blend of nine essential oils and menthol meant to recreate the scent and feel of earth in winter. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 5/10 - Standard Line)

Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo - Our popular Sharp Dressed Man fragrance with enough menthol to make a polar bear buy a timeshare in Florida. (Fragrance Oil, Menthol Level: 10/10 - Availability: Spring/Summer)

Glacial Lemon Chill - Dunk my head into a bucket of ice-cold lemonade? Why, yes, that sounds positively delightful! Made with pure Lemon essential oil and super high menthol. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 10/10 - Standard Line)

Glacial Obsidian - Sweet anise with a high concentration of menthol. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 10/10 - Availability: Spring/Summer)

Glacial Spearmint - This scent is like a punch in the face from a snowman. A snowman who loves to chew gum. Made with Spearmint essential oil and one of the highest concentrations of menthol you will find. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 10/10 - Availability: Spring/Summer)

Glacial Wintergreen - This scent is like a punch in the face from a snowman. A snowman who just brushed his teeth. Made with Wintergreen essential oil and one of the highest concentrations of menthol you will find. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 10/10 - Availability: Spring/Summer)

Iced Pineapple - Sweet pineapple with a cool, menthol blast. A limited summer fragrance. (Fragrance Oil, Menthol Level: 3.75/10 - Availability: Spring/Summer)

Margaritas in the Arctic - I can't taste this Margarita. Probably because I'm drinking it while sitting buck-naked on top of a glacier at the north pole. My skin feels wonderful, though! (Essential/Fragrance Oil Blend, Menthol Level: 3.75/10 - Standard Line)

Orange Chill - It's orange. It's chilly. It's Orange Chill, a sweet orange aftershave with a menthol twist. (Essential Oil, Menthol Level: 2.5/10 - Standard Line)

Any other Glacial would be 10/10. Not sure where they place Gin & Tonic on the Rocks. I might place it like MITA or maybe just a bit more.
